Finishing Advice on doing a "nudie mag guitar"

Being a "Autobody painter guy" myself, clearing over pictures sounds like a train wreck to me. I wouldn't even think of attempting it... Maybe with lacquer, but not with a Urethane. I'll be curious to see how this turns out. I hope they aren't charging you much, and are they guaranteeing the work against defects?? Hope it goes well...

What is a good price to pay for such work? There are tons of automotive painters near my old apartment.

OK, here it is.

Its an old 80's Kramer. I dont even know the model. picked it up in a music store about 10 years ago for $125. its been moded, and remoded. I put the bill lawrence pickups in it. its not a bad job. came out pretty decent for no money into it.

OK, here is the deal. I used a 55th anniversary Playboy, and some other mags. the project wasnt easy though, I was about 6 inches further from the work bench than I usually am. my arms and back are strained from reaching.

In the end, do you think it came out great and worth doing or not? The guitar looks good, but hard to tell from the pictures. Like Sully pointed out, is the back of the paper showing? Is the clear coat really even throughout? like real professional looking?

Oh yea, it was worth doing. NOw, I sure as hell wouldnt mess up a GOOD guitar like this. but I mean if you had a "clunker" laying around, hell ya, have at it!!!! and the back of the paper shows thru just a bit in places, but not bad. Its met my expectations. Now keep in mind, the clear coating job is only as good as my gluing the pics on. and if you REALLY take your time and meticulously glue them on right, it would come out WAY better than mine. I just slapped them on there. but the clear job came out well.
