You might try the Yngwie pedal. I had one, and returned it. It didn't play well with the gear I had at the time, but I saw potential in it._________________________________________________

The OD-3 is the re-release of the OD-1.
There's the vintage hair-counters that have driven the OD-1 into the stratosphere on price, but I tried the OD-3 through a Deluxe Reverb reissue, and it sounds very similar. Good boost, little coloration.
Fizz is there if you want it, but it works as advertised.
SD1 for distortion, OD for boost.

THe SD1 is listed as an overdrive pedal. I have one and it definitely is not a distortion type pedal. With that said, can anyone explain the differences between an SD1 and OD3? I've never used an OD3, but am wondering if the SD1 can boost the signal the same as the OD3."Some days you're the dog, other days you're the hydrant." - on the back of the business card for Bella the Pomeranian

from what Boss' website says, the SD-1 has the same asymetrical circutry as the OD-3.

Seems like we are chasing our tails here.
The SD1 can be used as an overdrive.
But...it colors the tone a bit more than the OD3.
If the amp has good drive to begin with, I wouldn't go there unless I wanted A LOT of distortion.
If the amp (like the Deluxe Reverb I used as an example) doesn't have much OD, then SD1 is the ticket.
Otherwise, OD3.
Unless you're looking for a distortion pedal.
For that I like a Proco Rat.
