I installed the a P-Rail into the bridge position of a Kramer Pacer Custom 2 I have. The reason why I choose this guitar is that it already had a on/on/on mini-toggle installed so using that toggle, I could hook up the pickup as series/p90/parallel.
Though my eyes are old and my hands are shakey, I was able to get the pickup installed. However, when I'm on a high-gain channel, I do get what I would characterize as a little louder than normal hum when I'm in the P90 or the series mode. When in parallel, it's nice and quite and sounds really-really good.
So, am I missing something that is causing the hum? Has anyone else who has installed these pickups experiencing the same thing? I realize that while in p90 mode, it's a single coil and that will generate some hum.
Thanks in advance for any/all ideas!
