Volume Troubleshoot / stripped saddle

Tonight I installed SD Blackouts in a DKMG that had HZs and aTurbocharger installed.

I removed the Turbo and replaced the tone and volume pots and the output jack but the volume pots doesn't work.

I have checked the diagram and my wires multiple times. I also compared to my diagram of how the HZs were wired and everything seems to make sense. The tone pot works but the volume pot does not do anything.

Is there a way with a Multimeter to troubleshoot this? What is the best approach?

This is only the second time I have changed pickups so I still trying to get a hang of it.

I also noticed that the pickups worked without the battery? Is that normal?

Also I somehow stripped a saddle on the bridge! Should a Floyd Rose saddle work as a replacement or is there somewhere to find Jackson Lic. Floyd Rose parts?

You may have baked the pot when you soldered the ground on the back of it. It's easy to kill a pot with a soldering iron, especially those small ones.

As for the saddle, you can get licensed saddles from www.guitarpartsdepot.com - I think they have the screws if that's all you need.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking now (baked the pot). Guess I'll give it another shot and see what happens.

Ok, I pulled the Vol pot and tested the tabs. 23.3 while a new pot from the blackout set tested 25.4

Does this mean the pot is bad?

I checked the online wiring diagram and it only differed in that all grounding on the volume pot all grounded in one pool of solder instead of two. In addition it had the ground wire from the bridge attached to the volume pot ground.

Previously the ground wire from the bridge was attached to the screw in the side of the electronic compartment.

None of these grounding changes would make any difference would it?
