The pickup will work but you will need to come up with a way to use the single coils and find a place in the control cavity to mount the 9V battery. Maybe EMG SA's would work best in the single coil positions since I don't think Duncan has single coil Blackouts yet. Otherwise it's a pain in the ass to mix the active and passive pickups. I'm pretty sure the SA's should work with the Blackouts as I believe they both require 25k pots.
Hopefully someone that knows rather than thinks can give some more input.
**EDIT SD does make single coils space Blackouts. http://www.seymourduncan.com/product...ackouts_singl/
Unforunately they don't have a 1H2S kit that I can find so you will have to buy the parts all individually.Last edited by Hellbat; 07-01-2009, 01:05 AM.GTWGITS! - RacerX

The Blackouts are great pickups for heavy tones, they have crazy high output and are nice and balanced. For passives I dig the Duncan Custom. There's lots of pickup threads in here just do a little digging and you should find more feedback than you'd ever want.GTWGITS! - RacerX

Try a Duncan Distortion or Custom Custom or Custom 5, DiMarzio Tone Zone, or simply raise the JB so it's closer to the strings.I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood
