How do I remove play in JT580 trem arm?

    You can see that the bar has two little nubs on it. These help it not wobble when it's screwed into the bridge. Eventually these wear down and you get wobble. The only remedy is a new bar, a new socket, or some method of building the nubs back up.

    And the wobble does affect playing. It takes away the ability to do slight vibrato.

      No it doesn't, you just need to wobble it more.

        It kills your ability to do flutters. Instead of a nice, smooth fluttering effect, you get "CARARARARARAAAAAAANGGGGG"!!!! Try it. You'll see.

          Someone at Carvin told me to try crazy glue like that when I had a problem with the wobbling bar on one of the Original Floyds I bought from them back in '95. I just used teflon plumber's tape, though.
