OFR swap for JT580lp prep question

OK, I'm gonna put an OFR in my RR3. So here's my question. Is there anything I need to do to the OFR before I drop it in? I heard there are shims under the saddles of the OFR when it comes out of the box. Do I need to take those out? Any help you all can give me will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

There should be one big long shim under the middle 4 saddles. Take that out.

Are you sticking with the original lock nut? If not, the new one's going to be too tall.

Yeah I'm sticking with all the parts that are on there: nut, posts, claw, springs. Thanks for the info on the shim.
