Does that mean that their massive price increase earlier this year bombed?

I just hope FMIC is not leaving dealers on the short end of the stick and forcing them to operate on less margin while leaving the ridiculous list price basis the same.

well, they were losing money, so they did have to raise prices.

but in the economy, it was destined to fail..

Most of the Fender branded stuff, went back down, and they dropped a large percentage of the prices with all the other brands as well..

Yeah I think Fender's problem with the price raise was too much at one time. I mean a $300 increase for an American Standard? Almost $700 on a big ticket like an EJ Strat? Yikes!

I would hope prices are going down. I just bought a used early 90's Soloist for cheaper than it would cost for me to buy a new DK2 at current prices. The prices from about 2 years back were perfect. I'm not sure that including a case with all guitars is good or not. For Kellys and Warriors I can see because they're hard to get cases for. But Soloists and Dinkys it's quite easy.

Yeah I thought 1540 was really high for an import. Just a couple years ago you could get a US model for that much.

well, I think you are going to see Japanese guitars start to get really expensive

ESP's Custom Prices are already almost double what the exact same spec'd Jackson are.
