Completed - '71 proto #4

Here are some build pix of the 4th '71 prototype. This one will have a Gotoh Floyd and the first one to have a tone knob. This should be the last prototype before the carved top prototypes start in May.


Specs:
Body - Mahogany with quilted "angel step" maple top, ivoroid binding
Neck - Mahogany with quilted maple headplate, Aero headstock, ivoroid binding, ebony fretboard, MOP slash inlays, 22 jumbo stainless steel frets, 25.5 scale.
Pickups: TBD, but either Habaneros made by Grover Jackson or a set of Ormsbys (Nunchucker/De la Creme)
Color: TBD, but likely a clear, watery blue
Controls: Vol, Tone, 3 way toggle
Hardware: Gotoh licensed Floyd, Gotoh tuners, all hardware will be cosmo black
































There will be a small batch of these with some really unique angel step tops, but more on that later.

oooooh. nice nice nice nice nice. That blue should be lovely over that top. Love the figuring on the headstock too.

I haven't tried them yet, no. Pez brought me a set when he was in town, shit....almost 2 years ago. It's about time I put them in something special.

Finishing up the neck; a portion of the heel is left alone so it can be blended in with the body after the neck is glued in (might do that today)

Face cleaned up and sanded to 400:

I was going to go with a light, watery blue over the angel step quilt, but I'm starting to lean toward trans white on the top and headstock, and just clear over the mahogany on the back and sides. (Ignore the tuners, they're just "partsbox" tuners)
