Completed - Galaxy V

This was a spec build that was made available through my Kickstarter campaign; quartersawn honduran mahogany body and neck, quilted maple top, ebony fretboard and headplate. Block inlays and binding over stainless steel frets, vol/tone/toggle, Gold hardware, and a vertical blue burst (light blue at the top, darker blue at the bottom). Here we go.

Completely roughed in. The rest will be cleaned up when it's time to level the frets.



Time to shape the neck; I hadn't planned on putting the quilt veneer on the back of the headstock, but I had some really nice quilted scrap, and when I'm having fun with a particular build, I may add these sorts of things. Of course, it doesn't mean I wasn't having fun if I don't do that.

Neck heel transition complete, bevels added. This might be my favorite pic of the guitar thus far.



Frowny face drilled.



Next is cleanup/final sanding, then off to paint.

Very cool. You definitely didn't cut any corners doing stainless frets with nibs (figuratively speaking of course, literally speaking...well you had to cut a lot of those little corners )

It'll get a vertical blue burst; faint blue at the top, gradually getting darker toward the bottom.

That looks great Sully. Can't wait to see the finished product. I will own a Galaxy V one day. Very similar specs to this one with a dark seafoam green or teal blue color perhaps. Or maybe a hot pink color? Or a purple sparkle? Damn, I want a bunch of them!!! Lol.
