I've noticed major sites like Youtube and Twitter have started offering a "Night Mode" or "Dark Mode" in the past year or so, where it's light text on dark backgrounds. I find this to be less straining to the eye, and also consumes less power (and saves battery) if your electronic device (eg - smartphone) is equipped with an LED or AMOLED screen since darker colors are lit up less. I hope this trend continues. JCF has been a pioneer with light text on a dark background for ages.
