It seems true enough that whatever the money emergency was,it subsided enough that he didn't HAVE to sell after all though. That sucks from the buyer's viewpoint, and will make it harder for the seller to sell next time, at least here. Ebay, of course, cares not for such things.If someone backdoored it after the fact, that would suck most of all.

Ahh, yes, obvious oversight on my behalf if he sent the physical check back. Well either way, if it is a sentimental reason for keeping, that I'd understand...and would hope the miffed buyer does as well. Either way the buyer gets the betrayed business deal, but if it turns up backdoored, that is another matter. In which case it would be foolish for any new buyer to even display it to anyone knowing of this.

Holy crap! This is a big load of BS. I'm sorry Chuck that you ended up in this situation. Most here probably don't know that after Chuck said he wanted the RI, he offered to let me buy it from Alex as he knew that I really wanted one plus he had other guitar deals pending. His deals fell through so I reciprocated his generosity and stepped aside on the RI. Finding out that he was strung along and ultimately didn't get the guitar really blows. Especially after he went out of his way for me. I'm really sorry that it turned out this way Chuck.

Forgot to add,Alex unknowingly sent my check to my old address,it was the address on the check so he is not at fault!!Luckily the new owners are very cool & did call me to let me know it was there!!

Just a heads-up,make sure the address is correct if you're getting something shipped(or shipped back!!!!!)!!

I know how you feel, I had a trade all locked up with another JCF'r a couple months ago - guitar for guitar even trade. We both had life happen and slacked on shipping for a couple days. Then the day I was about to ship it, he emails me and says he doesn't want to do the trade because he really loves the guitar and wants to keep it. I wanted the guitar but what the chuck right? I didn't push the issue. So then I see a month or so later that same guitar is up for sale. I PM him asking if he'd still honor our trade - no dice, he was trying to raise money for something else. I guess that guitar wasn't so special to him after all.
