The other day I got an unsolicited email from a Jackson dealer. He said he's running a "killer deal" on Custom Shop orders so long as the order is placed by the 31st.
I replied asking what the so-called "killer deal" was.
The response was that I had to submit a quote form. But I must let him know if I've asked any other dealer about the same quote. He said that he had to know because there will be surcharges to protect other dealers from dealer shopping.
So, I'm thinking, what the heck is this all about? Why am I not allowed to shop for the best dealer? I ask him what's the deal and he has no answer other than I should submit a quote because he's running a "killer special".
Again I ask what the so-called "killer special" is because if what he says is true I am way better off only submitting a quote once, right? In which case I need to know what his discount rate is going to be. For some reason he won't give me a firm discount rate. He's said about what it would be but that's not exactly reassuring. Any other dealers that I've asked have simply told me what their discount rate is.
