Re: Kevin Easton

sounds like KE is getting interest free loans from customers to support his business.

I'm sorry, I used to think KE was a cool guy, I've lost every bit of respect i had for him and wouldn't buy a fukkin set of strings from him.

As far as the Ed Roman statment Toru, as much as a dick that ER is at least he can run a business. As much as I hate to say it I bought a Floyd Rose Original from his site, had it 2.5 days later, 180 for a Gold one that includes the nut shipped. That was the best price I could find for a Gold Floyd and I was in a hurry so i couldn't do the eBay thang

Re: Kevin Easton

ha! just mentioned something funny.
I tried some currency converter and the dollar is at 0.77 right now!!

that was a clear difference to the days when I ordered at easton (was something 1.+ then). even if he decides to send me his cheque, I will get way less euros then I spend when I payed him.
not to mention he prob. did profit from my cash lying around.
I'd not have made such a big deal out of getting him payed, if I'd have been able to take a credit over 1,5 years for nothing.

this was clearly the most inefficient dealing I've done in 21 years of nonesense.

Micha, if you are still planning on getting the guitar it would make more sense to have the check sent to the new dealer.

Re: Kevin Easton

I would definitely try and get the guitar, obviously not from kevin, but someone and Jackson may lock you in at the price quoted/paid, never know. Obviously Jackson knows what's been going on with Easton and his customers, so.... I wouldn't put it past them to make it right for you. And consdiering you're out of the country to boot, may help things in this case.

Good luck tho, hope it works out and certainly keep us in the loop!

Have any of you guys that got messed around by KE received a QUOTE number or Work Order Number from him?
If so, I can take that info to Jackson and check the status of your custom shops.
There may still be hope and if so, I will be happy to get involved.

Re: Kevin Easton

hey scott, no there is nothing like a working number, since jackson did not even start on my guitar.
I think the order never reached jackson at all.
and that's where I get in sorrow a bit.
KE offered to participate on this small run of customs. they were quite cheap, I somehow doubt jackson will give me an offer like they gave to KE, since I'm not about to get 12 of them (even though that would be great).

first of all, I'm not gonna do anything with either you or matt or somebody else, till KE send me this cheque.
I can't order a guitar as long as I have nothing to offer. I could do a really laughable deposit right now, and that's it.
I'm a straight guy, who know's he's not good in keeping money. I prefer paying fast, since I don't like open bills that much.
you gotta understand I don't order anything before I'm sure I'm able to pay for it.

I just can wait for now to get that cheque, and than I'm gonna get it payed out in USD an keep it till I can afford another try.

if I wanted to get my euros again, I'd have a loss somewhere around 700 euros which is about 900USD right now.
it's just great. I could get a whole lot of dollars today if I still had my money...

but thx for your help everyone, I'll keep you updated, about how this is gonna end.
I never thought I'd have to say this, but I'm (as you can imagine) really not satisfied with KE, and threads like this are quite important.
if I read something like this earlier, I'd have a nice custom now, instead of all this hazzle.

Micha what was the run? Just a thought here maybe if it is a run that 12 people want to get on Scott could do a,limited and get near the same pricing... Maybe start a dialog with Scott on it and see what he can do with Jackson cost wise and maybe KE can transfer your $$$ right to VWall

Yah dude, if he can transfer your money it would be better so you won't have to take a hit with the new exchange rate. That might complicate things more, but might be better than taking a hit that big

Re: Kevin Easton

Id be more than happy to get a new run of LTD guitars for you guys.
Its one of my favorite things to do...
The LTD runs that is.

As for no WO or Quote number. that is BS!
I get quote numbers for reference as soon as I send them to Jackson and they confirm the price.
Then once I place the order, I immediately get a WO Work Order number...
Its that simple.
And everyone that orders a custom guitar should get that reference info straight away.
I recently had another customer that went thru a similar ordeal with KE and it was 16 months into it. No WO or quote number... nothing.
He was hoping that after 16 months the guitar was in build phase and ready to got and was gonna transfer the deal to me.
No such luck!
All this guy had was a copy of the quote form on the Jackson site..
That was it!
I was pretty bummed out for the guy!

Well, just let me know if I can be of assistance to any of you guys here.
I'm here to help.

Scott, that's what Micha is saying - KE just held his money and never submitted the order for the run, hence no possible WO.
It's really sad that KE turned out this way. I met him at Summer NAMM and he did seem like a good guy - kinda the "used car salesman" type, but not the greasy snake oil-type (Ed Roman, on the other hand, had that "bend over and grab your ankles while I pick your pocket and make you like it" kinda salesman look)

There may not be an assigned work order but it it was quoted there is a quote # in the system that Kevin had to receive from Jackson in order to tell him what the cost of the guitar was.. I beleive the WO# is then generated from that ..

Surely the WO is only generated from the quote if Jackson get a commitment from the dealer?
If KE just sent out a quote to Micha, took his cash and never took it any further, Jackson would never have generated a WO.....

that's what I think has happened.
otherwhise they would have at least started building it?
it's so long ago, if they didn't begin yet, I guess they never heard of him.

I could be wrong there, sure, but for me it feels like I've been simply abused for free credit an that's it.
