With a tracking #, you know when it was sent out and where it is located now.
Most of tracking #s such as by USPS, UPS, FEdex, DHL, all you have to do is to go to their websites and takes seconds to find out.
Let's say Easton gives you the tracking # tomorrow saying the check was mailed out, the tracking # will be in the system for you to be able to track its location by day after tomorrow.
So this way, Easton can not tell you lies.

All you have to do now is to tell him to send the check out with some kind of tracking #(expres mail I'd recommend).
Other wises, so easy for Easton to tell you "oh yea it's on the way" while he hasn't done anything.

I asked him to wire transfer, and he told me that if he does such a transfer his bank would charge him 200 bucks. sounds, well, unbelieveable, huh?
not to mention 200 bucks would be a loss, I'd LOVE to have instead of the exchange-rate-damage I have...
and that cheque-fees will probably be my problem too, but one of the least I'd say.

about the telephone-costs someone has mentioned; I always use some special number in front of his phone number, which allows me to call for 1,6 cent/min. it's just alright. since he's not about to reply on emails at all, there's no better way for me to go.

just called him again, he's sick. poor guy. didn't sound good at all...

well, nothing went out yet, I sent him an email with my adress (to eliminate the risc of misspellings)and asked for a tracking number this time.
he said USPS doesn't have anything like tracking numbers (really weird if you think of USPS beeing a huge postal service and keep in mind what you guys told me). I just tried something out and asked him to go with DHL instead, since I remembered them beeing in your listed services too, and DHL would be another 80 bucks for a shipping of this distance for him.
that 80 bucks came shot out of him like nothing, he seems to know all the prices in mind somehow...
I told him about my exchange-rate-shit and the loss of something about 900$, just to explain my situation and how laughable these 80bucks sound to me.
he didn't expect a damage of this size, but anyway, he said he'll find out how to get me something to watch the progress and promised to send me another email as confirmation soon.

I'm glad to have you guys here to ask a few questions about some things, he could tell me whatever he wants otherwhise.
at least the whole story seems to stink a little, I'm curious to see if he's able to give me a tracking number next time.

seems like this will take me forever...

He is just feeding you complete SHIT. The US Postal service has a tracking option, sure it's a few more dollars, but that's it. I have sent money wires for $25000, and it only cost, get ready for this $30. Actually it doesn't matter if you are sending $10 or $100000 the fee is the same. If I were you , at this point maybe you should check into contacting the auhtorities, or at least getting him on the phone and letting him know that you expect a resolution within 24 hours(tell him to overnight you the check), or you will get them involved. If you sent him money and he has kept it and never ordered you CS piece that is mail FRAUD/STEALING/SCAMMING, a Federal Crime. Your more than being nice. This guy has had your money for a long time, and you have proof that he never placed your order with Jackson. He stole from you, and you need to stop acting like this is a "accident" on his part, like oops soprry I forgot to order your guitar. He never did, he never upfront told you he did(you found out). He has refused/lied to send you, you're money back. He Robbed you.

A whole pile of JCFers rallied behind Brett C when he was getting hosed on the Charvel V deal, why can't someone local to Kevin make an appearance for micha? If Doc could do it for Brett, someone here can do it for you. Unless of course, there is a collection size requirement for true brotherhood.

Since he ordered a custom shop guitar from a dealer (at the time of the order) is there anything Jackson can do to get this guy his guitar. Taking a $900 hit on this deal sucks.

I know he's probably talking bullshit, but I somehow feel like waiting till at least tomorrow to give him a chance to give me a tracking number. wouldn't seem right to me otherwhise.
but I'm quite eager getting this thing done this week.

when it comes to involving authorities, I'd not even know who that would be in my case.
our deal was set by phone and emails only, he's half around the planet, and my order never was placed to jackson, so what exactly do I have?

if everything keeps going on this way, and he doesn't show up with a proof for a sent cheque, I still can come back to your offer of someone of you taking him a visit.
I'd love to do it myself, but this seems quite hard at the moment, so thanks to those of you who offered their help.
I still hope to get it done without, but I'd really apreciate some backup if he still keeps on excusing...

well, here's the result of my daily easton-call;
none!!

I simply was not able to reach anyone, he just won't take any calls today it seems. I tried dozens of times since he opened his store about 4 hours ago, and I just won't reach him.

I shut of this option where the other side sees your number on display, just out of curiousity, and still no easton.
guess he's really ill today. didn't sound that great yesterday....

well, so another day passes by without any progress.

I feel so sorry for this.
He took your money for your order and when he didn't even place that order with Jackson and kept the money, it is your money that you must receive back.
Just no more excuses on this and he should give you the money back without anymore BS.
