he said he doesn't have his number (just asked how to reach him, I got it, but maybe he had something new), and asked me to try again tomorrow.
I told him easton wanted to contact me today, and I told him about his situation, and he said, than he'll take care of this.

nothing new really. but it's still a pretty early monday I guess, even though I can't always take the luxury of staying up all night waiting for calls or so...

I sent him an email, and told him I will get what I deserve even without his help otherwhise.


well, that's it I guess.
nothing more for me to do today...

yeah, I had visions on that happening already. This is to bad this is still draggin out but it is not suprising.

I would start drafting a formal demand letter to Jackson just to see if it'll get you anywhere. Maybe not, he'd probably avoid them as well. Seeing that Easton is avoiding you, heat is going to be needed to be applied from all directions.

I would use the description of the situation on other letters, to local police, ...anyone that might have some muscle in this.

If the guy ends up in jail because of this...will you see any money anytime soon? Does that seem like a reasonable possibility? that could mean legal fees or fines, if the authorities want to lean on him, that is another story..but there can be a fine line between leaning and going to jail.

This guy could pack up with a little nestegg and hop across border-altho that seems unlikely, I'm not really sure what his behavior is going to be. Bankruptcy, over a couple grand or so? certainly seems a possibility. Chances are, the guy just doesn't have the money and doesn't want to say so or open himself up to that senario. He'd rather lie.

I'm waiting for his phone# to change or become 'unavailable'
that would be an indication that sh!t is going south fast.

the better business bureau is basically a place where you can lodge a formal complaint against a business. they'll try to mediate a little bit, and the cool thing is that the complaints are basically public record.

so if you wanted to do business with a company, you could look them up in the better business bureau, and it will tell you if they have any unresolved complaints and stuff like that.

most companies take that stuff seriously.

it does not look like any listed international restrictions apply with a US business and a customer from out of the country.

Is Kevin listed with the TX Chamber of Commerce? He should be if he has a tax ID. A letter to the TX Atty General wasn't such a bad suggestion. They should have a complaint process as well-probably an online one.

You can email them..they will tell you whether you have a consumer issue that falls under their jurisdiction. IOf they cannot help you, they may direct you to where you can find other means of help.

Filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau will help the next guy avoid getting ripped off, not so much you getting your money back. I think Kevin would try harder to placate a JCF member since out word of mouth reaches many people in the J/C market, than to soothe the generalized BBB. Calling the BBB is not what most musicians do when looking for a dealer.

I'd find out what US agency deals with international trade violations and file a complaint there. Also, find out if you can file an Internet fraud complaint in his own locality. Chances are they won't haul him straight to jail, but getting a summons will put him on alert that the shit's hitting the fan if he doesn't pay up.

I remember awhile back, people were questioning Kevin Easton. When you asked what was going on, you got bitched at. Too bad this shit didn't come up sooner.

Micha, I called the number, let it ring 8-10 times, no answer. This is bullshit he can do this to people, complete and total bullshit. He used his previous position as a high up in the J/C to gain the trust of his customers. He lured them in based upon the reputation of a good company. So sad that he's a piece of shit.
