  • Re: Kevin Easton

If you placed a custom shop order and has a order #, I believe you can check the status by contacting the custom shop.
If you don't have the #, then just like Micha, the order hasn't even been placed and the deposit is in Easton's pocket...

Hey jsully thanks for the reply I will give that number a call. I just talked to Kevin about 5mins ago and he said that jackson has lost a lot of his orders and that he will give me a call back on monday when he checks on my order. I paid him $1450 a year ago, so im hoping it got placed.

The whole reason I ordered from him in the first place was because his shop is about 2 hours from me and I was gonna go pick my guitar up in person to save money on shipping / risking that it gets damaged during shipment.

Thanks again ill call that # and keep everone informed

If you don't have a work order #, he didn't place the order. He did the same thing to me two years ago. I gave him a $1400.00 deposit and after 18 mos. still no work order. I had to call him for weeks to get my deposit back. He blamed the whole thing on Jackson, saying they "lost the order". The only reason I ordered through him is because of the good things I heard about him on this board. BAD MOVE.

Deposit will never be paid to Jackson until they complete your guitar.
This means, the deposit is with Kevin and he is responsible to refund if he didn't place the order.

Unfrikkinbelievable! This is obviously KE's standard operating procedure, even on simple orders like the imports I ordered from him last year. I was still in the desert when I called him and placed the order so I just knew that my new guitar would be home waiting for me. No such luck. When I got home and called KE (he was easier to get ahold of back then), guess what his excuse was? Yup.... Jackson lost the order.

Aaaaaaaand, I had ordered the basic black DK2S for my son and when I opened the case it was trans black. Luckily, my son liked it better and when I called KE to find out what was up he said that the black one was damaged so he sent me the trans black that he had in stock. It actually costs a lil' more and he didn't charge me extra for it but a courtesy call to discuss whether I wanted it as a replacement was in order, I think.

It took me 3 days to get a tracking number from him and when I finally got it the status reflected billing info only for 3 days before it actually showed any movement. I'm guessing he printed a shipping label just to get me off his back til' he actually had the guitars in his hands and swapped out the pups as requested.

KE definitely attempts to cover his ass every step of the way at the expense of us, his FORMER customers.

Damn, I was truly hoping there wouldn't be any more to this. The one thing I will say is that Mike Kotzen did tell me he lost some of Kevin's orders last fall. He told me this when I talked to him back in the Spring before I talked with Edel.

I am glad another person saw this thread.
