Isn't that your band's gear van, Tim? I know, your wife has to drive because you couldn't pass the test, but still the band's van...

Rich, start your own thread. Leave this one for Ian and Pat.

    In other words...

"WILL"? We're talking about something that happened over a year ago. don't you mean "would have"?

Did you read the thread we're talking about? There were people who were mad about what chuck did, and those who didn't mind. Pat was the guy who basically said "Fuck you" to everybody who wasn't in the lynch mob, and threatened to shut down the board. Nobody else had that power.

So the admins closed Pat's account as he'd demanded, under threat of the board being shut down if they didn't. Pat's post was deleted, but then restored. That's what prompted the exchange between Kevin and Chuck that got Chuck banned.

So no, I don't think anybody else's post would have had the same effect.

If the return of Pat's post started the argument between you and Chuck, Kevin, then it DID have something to do with it. Granted Chuck should never have said that to you, especially if the whole project was your idea. And if Shawn was upset, well he has a right. But a lot of members were understanding of Chuck too; it wasn't a one-sided situation and many who gave to him said they were fine with what he did. Those who were upset had a right to be, but did they have a right to resent those who didn't? I don't think so, and it seemed there were more on Chuck's side than against him while that thread was around.

I also agree that Pat had a right to respond here. We had an exchange and it seems to me we cleared the air as far as disagreeing but mutually wishing each other well anyway.

Again someone who appears to know more than the people that were actually involved.

    1) Chuck got tossed because he got mad at me for reprinting a post that Pat had posted and unintentioally got deleted when we removed his membership. Chuck then dictated to me how I was to run the JCF and told me I should leave. After that BS I pulled the plug on his membership. His leaving had not one fukking thing to do with Pat so please get your facts straight

    2) Chuck took money for meds and in a week decided to buy gear. It was a slap in the face to not only the members that contributed to this fund but Me and Sully.

To show you have no fukking clue about what your talking about the fund for Chuck was MY idea and I told Sull to run with it .. .again you know nothing of the background stuff...

Lastly we took up that fund because Chuck HAD to sell gear for meds. We felt bad he was doing that so we took up the collection and he kept the gear. A week later made a purchase form the classifieds. If he had the money for that then he had the money for the fukking meds..... END OF STORY....

I really hate it when people assume they know the behind the scenes stuff when they have no clue ... Your looking at making Pat a scapegoat for that even after I'm telling you that wasn't him ... Pat was already gone!

Lastly this thread wasn't about Chuck it was about Ian and Pat it does no good to argue about former members who don't mean anything to this board currently. I think if one party has the right to post a complaint the other has the right to repsond....

Kevin, obviously you're the one who had the power to toss him, but it was Pat who pretty much set the tone for those who were against Chuck getting the Intellifex. If I recall, Sully started that collection so Chuck wouldn't have to sell his guitar to get the meds. So that collection was for Chuck to keep a piece of gear. Why then was another piiece of gear so horrible?

Would you have banned Chuck if he hadn't gotten into it with you? It was his reaction to the slagging, led by Pat, that led him to get in your face. Not that he should've done that, but I think most people who remember that whole thing remember Pat leading the anti-Chuckracer faction - again, to the point of threatening to shut down the board. You seemed to think he was serious about that at the time, too. You said as much.

You ARE a good-hearted guy, but you went off bad on Chuckracer - a guy who is basically slowly dying, but you begrudged him an Intellifex. You didn't begrudge him saving a guitar, but the Intellifex was worth running him out of here? Anybody know if he's even still with us? I changed IP and lost his info.

Whoa!!! This is fukking bullshit... Chuck couldn't pay for his meds so we took up a fund and then after getting the money decided to buy something from the classifieds. When he got called on it he didn't like it an an argument ensued. He told me if I didn't like it I should leave the board after an argument and I tossed him ...

Don't blame pat for that it was me and I'd fukkin do the same thing today!! I can't beleive people are willing to throw someone else under the bus for something that they had nothing to do with directly!

Pat, I can respect you speaking your mind. That's what I did. I appreciated your help, but I am not a yes-man regardless, I will always say what I really think. It hasn't been the smartest thing sometimes but it's too late to change. If you ask my opinion about something you can be sure I'm not telling you what you want to hear, though.

I wish you well too, man. Anger can cause heart attacks, one reason I've TRIED to learn to control my own. Easier said than done, I know...

If you read the whole thread you'll also see that I characterized you as a good-hearted guy with a short fuse. Is that untrue? You ARE a good-hearted guy, but you went off bad on Chuckracer - a guy who is basically slowly dying, but you begrudged him an Intellifex. You didn't begrudge him saving a guitar, but the Intellifex was worth running him out of here? Anybody know if he's even still with us? I changed IP and lost his info.

Dude, I appreciate the help you gave me, that was awesome. Also recall that Chuck orchestrated the whole thing for me. It saved my life at the time and I'm still grateful, but Chuck was in the same shos as me, for different conditions. I can imagine how much life that took out of him. That was fucked, and the ultimatum you gave this w3hole board was also fucked.

So, that being the last I heard of you, can you see why this might be plausible? Look at it logically, if it wasn't you you'd agree.

But I'd love to hear your full story. The quotes I've seen above show me some reason for aggravation, I'll give you that. But why withhold the trem plate? Isn't that part of the guitar? Did you pack it internal to the case so it wouldn't move? Anyway, please elaborate.
First, I didn't run Chuckracer out of here, I made my statement and stuck by it, if he left, he did it on his own. I'm no admin here, never was, never will be, I can't make those decisions.

The Chuckracer deal was a bad one... I sympathize with Chuck, his health issues and I've always liked Chuck, still do, hung with him at NAMM, etc. But the fact remains... A lot of people bust their asses around here doing for people when they're down, and when someone says they can't afford their meds, in typical JCF fashion, we as a brotherhood come to the rescue only to get kicked in the teeth by Chuck turning around buying gear the next week? And then rationalizes it by saying he bought the gear with a credit card?!? I stand by my remarks, both then and now...

As for threatening the Admin's with shutting down the board, that was never a viable threat, they knew this, after the fact, but I wanted it perfectly clear I wanted my user removed, not banned, removed. I may have been a bit overboard with that thread, but oh well, it hit me personally. I used to put way too much heart in to this place to stand here and have the majority of the posts on that particular topic say it's OK, I didn't want to be a part of it, period.

We're all dying in one way or another, hell Tommy probably wouldn't be with us if he didn't have the friends he does here, no offense Tommy, but we've talked and you know where I'm coming from.

As for the plate, not sure, I must have lost it... Sorry, I can send another right away if someone gives me the measurements...

    Take care Lerx...

    Pat
