This guitar was for sale and mint 9 months ago. This is clearly malicious and purposeful damage, and I say sue his ass as a sport. Fuck him.

If it was me, he would be VERY sorry he ever did this, I guarantee it.

      Pure and simple BS.

That sucks - more or less the worst possible outcome. I'm really sorry to see that Ian....

Sorry man, that totally sucks. I had one deal with Pat on a PCS. In his classified ad he was a little "generous" as to the condition of the guitar. Other than that though, the deal was ok.

Ian, I'm very sorry to see this. That sucks in a major way. I agree with others - from the pictures, it sure looks like that guitar was intentionally damaged.

If I recall he left the forum because some thread pissed him off. He was the server guy for the forum at that time but I don't know if he still is.

It looks like he was pissed that the cops forced him to ship it so he fucked it up before he did. Respecting Robbin, eh? Sorry to see that, it's an atrocity.

hmmm maybe it got damaged long ago after the deal was made. He wasnt man enough to step up and say "dude its broke" he said.. "deals off sending money". not saying that true. Maybe he smashed it? Dont know. either way its fucked up.

NOTE no paint chips in the case. Damage = pre packing. Screwing = ever since the deal when down.

Ian, I can't tell you how sorry I am that this happened. I've never dealt with Pat, but I have dealt with you and I know that you are one of the most honest, understanding and easiest going people to deal with. I hope you can get this worked out by Fedex.

You know, maybe this would make a good candidate for a Big Red relic? you could get the headstock repaired, put a chrome floyd on it maybe put a chip or two in it to match the original? It's just a thought. Maybe it could make something good out of something bad? I've always wanted to do that, but would never want to "relic" a perfect JCF 02 or a high dollar custom shop.

                        Good luck Ian.

yea...not packed properly so maybe fedex wont pay the insurance damage?

Sorry you had to go through that bullshit Ian...

To take that long, from January to almost a full year to ship is total BS. I would have taken trip for a nice face to face visit if it were my 2500 and I could give a fuck who you were or how badass you think you are...I'd be there with bells and whistles I can gaurantee ya that......no internet muscles here

I'm a little confused ... If you sent him the money for the guitar, he cashes the check or whatever. What does he care how long it takes you to pick it up ??

Very good question heartfeilder.... very good question indeed... but apparently he did... along with the shipping issues with scheduling and perhaps my lack of scheduling...
Whatever it was, it led to this... and true, in hindsight, I should have gone there to inspect it... should have had the police officer inspect it... there are all kind of things that I should have or could have done.... but now, its water under the bridge... oh well... the deed is done... all the more stupid of him and all the more ammunition I need...

In some ways I am glad becuase now, tenfold is an understatement as to what will happen next.... in actual fact, I feel sorry for this guy, but then again, no I don't... its all about Karma...
..and Guys, thanks for your support on this... it means a helluva lot...

All in all, have a great Christmas, New Year and a wonderful holiday season.... I hope your days are joyous and you have good times with family and loved ones.... me, I'm going down to the Bahamas with my wife to spend family time..wooHOO!! ... this guitar will be addressed upon my return... trust me when I say, it will be addressed... ...it's already started....

                              Cheers

Wow... I hung out with Pat a few years ago and he was cool as hell. Sorry to hear this deal went bad.
