Thats messed up. Theres no chance that the box got dropped, popped open as well as the case,and the guitar fell out? Then fedex just stuffed it back in and taped it shut again? Id hate to think that someone would do that on purpose.

I wouldn't be surprised...I know a few people who worked at UPS and I've seen my guitars being loaded at airports...

I got a -84 RR Student a couple of years ago and unfortunately the case wasn't good enough so the guitar could move around a little bit. Somewhere on the road to Sweden from the US someone sat the case down really hard and both wing and tip got damaged.

I'm very sad for you and the guitar and you have all my sympathy!

Its an ethical matter of course if it was criminal an arrest would be made just what amazes me alot of people are OK with this type of behavior but I will let it go before I piss to many people off.

That is for a judge to decide in a small claims court. Both parties present their case in the civil matter c/w a transaction dispute..it happends everday, all day.

We are not judges..and by the looks of some responses here..that's a good thing!!!

I do know all the criminal and civil laws, it's what I did for a long time for a living. In fact my Dept. is still paying me for the rest of my life...which is very nice..

Theft is what is called taking something someone paid for like the swag.

If he was not late then somehow he made you feel upset so the cops had to be called for the guitar to be shipped.

That made you feel angry so you took the swag.

So if someone makes you mad by being late or calling the cops its cool to steal from them or delay in not giving a refund.

You have told many people they dont have the facts straight I gave you a hard time about taking the swag but I was the only one to point out what looked like paint chips in the case as well.

What am I missing? ...that he was late at picking up the guitar so that justifies theft or non refund and the cops being called?

Ian gave you an out when you guys agreed on a refund. Holding the money was just child-ish. It would have been over. Someone has to take the high road and you choose not and here we are in a sh*t storm.

Ian screwed up too with the delayed deliveries so he is still has his faults in this transaction.

Personally I would never do *any* kind of business with Pat. If I piss you off are you going top delete my website. I hope you don't treat your other customers that way. This is the second time Pat has acted like a 2 year old. 1) I'm going to delete the JCF 2) I'm going to hold the money and teach you a lesson.

Pat you maybe a great guy to go have a few beers with but I'm not going to do any business with you.

Apparently, you missed some reading there... It was ready to ship once the transaction was finalized and money paid, he's the one that delayed shipping, not me... And for several months, not a couple of weeks.
