I'm sorry to see this happen to your guitar, Ian. After looking at those pics, in horror, I agree with the others that your guitar was beat up prior to being shipped to you. I just can't believe someone would do something like this.

I truly hope you are able to resolve this to your satisfaction.

I'm truly sorry this happened, Ian, but let me get this straight:

You waited over 4 months before initiating the arrangements of a pick up? What was Pats comment on this?

You then failed 9 (nine?!) times in scheduling a pickup? That sounds like a lot. What was Pats comments on this?

I don't understand this. FedEx didn't pick it up or wasn't allowed to pick it up?

I am just trying to understand, that's all. What happened to that guitar is unbelievable. It really does seem like deliberate damage

I'm just friggin ill looking at these pics. How the hell this could be done to this guitar, or to any guitar for that matter, is beyond me. I truly hope you get what's coming to you Ian.

This really made me half sick to look at -

Filing a claim with the shipper for reimbursement would probably not work - was it even insured?

In any event, Jackson cannot make another one as per the JCF series agreement (though I don't know if that covers this type of situation).

I'm just glad Robbin ain't here to see that.

No but Curt, Sully and myself are. I have to say that it hurts to see that happened to one of these guitars. After the intial ressurection of these guitars this run got tarnished little by little. Eventually it got to the point my stomach turned for even doing them because they lost what they were supposed to be truly about.

I despise the day these were built and hate them more and more with each passing issue that arises. I sold mine for this very reason. When we walked away from this run there were several ideas that were on the table for JCF-03 and we decided that we didn't have the backbone to continue. If you do a series like 02 that has such an endearing special meaning and it gets muddied worse and worse as days go by you get to a point of wondering why you felt your hard work was worth it.... it wasn't ..
Don't worry - I'll smack her if it comes to that. You do not sell guitars to buy shoes. You skimp on food to buy shoes! ~Mrs Tekky 06-03-08~

Kev I completely understand why you feel this way. I also agree that JCF 03 would problaly not be a good idea in light of this mess.

Keep this in mind though. There are a few members who got in on this for the real reason that this run was created for. I know of a few members myself who hold these guitars out of respect to Robbin. Of all the bad that came out of this run there are a few who knew and still know what it was really about.

I was not in on the run, but I wanted one since they were completed. With every painful thread that I read, I started to lose interest and felt just as you do.

There are scumbags and degenerates in all walks of life. Unfortunaltely even here (past and present). It sickens me to see this obviously deliberate act of anger.

Please don't let this gross sign of disrespect or any of the other bullshit make you, Kurt or Sully feel that all of your efforts were not worth it. I know I probably don't know half of all the shit that went down for you guys, but I know what this run of guitars represents. For those that knew what it was all about (you all know who you are), it was well worth it.

perfectly said, Jim! Kev, don't even think for a moment that this was a failure as it was not. Hell, even if one of us only appreciated it (which I know for sure it's not just one), then it should have been worth it. How often is it that you get a chance for this kind of opportunity. Don't let it beat the shit out of you, just think of us who really appreciated the whole ordeal that was JCF-02. I know I'm one of those people and everytime I play it, it's a great feeling. That right there is what matters, not the shit that was stirred....

Again guys, thanks for your support....

Kev, it hurts real bad to know that you have to see this... I am sorry man... I wish it didn't have to happen this way... it's very unfortunate that bad apples are in the bunch... in this case, a rotten one... one to stoop to a level of this caliber..
It is very true that issues like this, really tarnished the whole Big Red run and you have every right to feel the way you do... fuck, I would feel the same way too!!..
... that said, the other guys have a good point too, the group of us that believed in it for what it was and still is, appreciated and still appreciate the hard work you, Curt & Sully went through... always know that we will feel that way.. I think I can speak for everyone of the group in that respect..... we thank you from the bottom of our heart for going through all the shit to make it happen.. in spite of everything...

As for pickup details Jackson1, let's see...
..yes, I waited 4mths to pick it up.. my prerogative... with no phone call from him of an issue, I assumed (incorrectly!!!) all was cool....
..his comments, he wasn't too thrilled but we agreed to schedule FedEx to pick it up anyway...
..yes, three pickups scheduled, three attempts each schedule... like I said, I messed up scheduling at times... due to Pat's attitude, I have no idea whether the box was there when FedEx eventually got there or not or when they went... ground pickup is an 'anytime during the day' pickup...
.. his comments.. I wrote what he said already...
..the last pickup attempt a week ago, not sure when they showed up...
..again, I wrote what happened next...

I can guess what happened, and I'm not taking up for Pat, but he sold it,got the cash and spent it... and there it was, looking at him. Seller's remorse, plain and simple. He always seemed like a cool guy here, but then he also showed a tendency to blow up once in awhile. As a business owner he's used to controlling his world, and when you brought in the police he snapped and committed domestic violence on the guitar.

Like I said, just a guess, and not an excuse. Just a possiblke explanation for desecrating a very rare and meaningful guitar. Some people just can't control their anger. He demanded to be banned here or he'd shut down the board's server, which I assume he was being paid for at the time, because he didn't like some posters' comments on a thread. That's not very professional and shows an inability to control anger. He should see a therapist if he's breaking guitars now.

Rich, I thought he was in need of therapy when he went apeshit over Chuckracer and what went down there. He was a raving lunatic that night, so doing this to Ian's guitar doesn't seem like such a stretch to me.

Ian, get your ass on the beach and enjoy your vacation. This crap will still be here when you get back, so enjoy the time away from it.

<---------------- also had a problem with Pat. I got over it and moved on. It was the healthiest thing to do for me. Sorry to see that fish. Such a beautiful guitar. What goes around, comes around.

Ian, this really sucks man. I just can't believe someone would do that. Blows my fucking mind. If I can help you out, I'd volunteer my time to restore that axe for you at no charge other than materials and shipping. I think I could bring it back to 95% anyway. Even though I couldn't afford one at the time, I've always had a love for those axes and what they represent. Just let me know if I can help.
