BTW I didnt mean to suggest anything by bring up the joke about the swag getting eaten. Now it probably wasnt such a good idea... Ddint mean to infer anything by it.
I ate it, and it was good. Too bad you didn't have any. :ROTF:
Apparently, you missed some reading there... It was ready to ship once the transaction was finalized and money paid, he's the one that delayed shipping, not me... And for several months, not a couple of weeks.
Pat
Fair enough- it looks like a wacky tranaction altogether. I retract my statement as I wasn't involved, but no one like to read about this sort of thing.

After reading ALL these damn posts-it took awhile-
-and I know none of the players here-I'm suprised it took you that long to get the police involved, but I had a similar experience and I also took longer than I should have- I guess you really don't want to face the facts- I know I didn't want to.
Yes, the guitar seems to have received some damage in shipping, but it NEVER should have taken that long to ship. If it was shipped out when it was purchased.....

Well, I guess I need to make this perfeclty clear for the shed's, rocket scientists and Dr Phil's here that STILL don't get it...
At no point in time was the swag/plate EVER in jeopardy of being "permanently" parted from this guitar.... I have no use for it without the guitar, it belongs with the guitar, and I was very vocal about that when someone else tried to sell their BR without the plate. I was told I had to "ship the guitar" or be arrested, so that's what I did, nothing more, nothing less. And for the shed that's going to say "Well the plate is part of the guitar" well, I put it away for safe keeping because I play all my guitars, and now I just need to find it, no biggie... I may have to sneak it past my wife before I can ship it tho... :ROTF:
It was done out of spite and to send Ian a message, that's how I took my anger/frustrations out, NOT by trashing this guitar.
Yes I think Ian said what he had to say but FAILED miserably with giving you guys the details on our transaction, for OBVIOUS REASONS, He makes himself out to be some innocent victim here and he's far from it! I would've expected him to at least post something about my side of it, I picked his apart, why not mine? Simple, he can't...
Since I posted a lot of details on the deal, (and I still haven't shown all my cards, "Shawn") Ian hasn't come here or anywhere to accept or deny my claims of events, that tells me a lot. It was real easy for Ian to throw some garbage out there, accuse me of trashing this guitar and throw me under a bus, left for dead... But I suppose it's not so easy that I'm here "now" and have posted "most" of the details about it. I can give you a ton of evidence to back my claims here.
Think about this for just a second....
If I had trashed that guitar, do you think "had I done this", I would have waited this long to post? If I knew the guitar was trashed prior to shipping, I would also know he'd come here and post. And those of you that know me, know I'd be right behind him. I think that makes a statement all in it's own.
He sent me one cryptic message when he received the guitar, I believe it said something like... I saw what you did, and I'm not surprised... That's the last thing I've heard from Ian, publicly or privately...
"This guy's so old he farts dust, man!"
Fart in the wind.. All we do is fart in the wind...
I may be old, but I know when there is a time to not offer up what I think. It serves no purpose because I know it will not make any difference. I'll say this. It's an interesting read but all this is showing me is there are a lot of busy bodies spouting off. And it looks real bad to me.
Scoville ... Do yourself a favor and either STFU or get out of here. You obviously don't get it. You know neither of these people. You are new here and it's not a good way to make friends
Look, again maybe I totally lost my mind but there are paint chips in the case around the headstock.
Also undercoat chips that look white in the lower part of the case, look.
What better way to dispose of the evidence than to eat it?
So are you saying someone ate the swag and the backplate? Now more serious, no matter how this turns out a nice guitar was destroyed, and theres not much left to do but hope both sides can make ammends and move on.
Although I don't know either party personally after reading this post I think that this guitar was damaged in shipping, I believe it was sent intact but when the receiver opened the box he got overly excited as any of us would have after seeing the damage and because of the history in regards to the transaction jumped to the conclusion it was done out of spite ( many of us would have the same reaction ). I don't fault either party for their actions I would have probably done the same if I was either one of them and neither one has anything to gain by the destruction of the guitar so why would they do it, simple they didn't, looks to me like the latches opened allowing the guitar to move in the case causing the damage. I have heard of many guitars being damaged in shipping and I don't blame the shippers as I doubt that they do it on purpose I do however wonder when someone is going to make a case that can properly protect a guitar, isn't that its job, there should be no need for extra protection above what the case is supposed to provide and when you buy a guitar for $3000 plus why to you get a POS $.50 case. As far as I'm concerned you should be able to bang it, throw it, beat it and when you open it the guitar is still like brand new, if I have to be gentle with it then what's it's purpose. Personally I use a simple solution to one of the problems which look's like it could have come in handy here, when I ship/travel with a guitar I duct tape the case closed so if the latches give the case still can't open.
