I think some get it and some don't .. We'll ever know the whole story and we can only speak of our own encounters with each individual. Pat IMO has always been a stand up guy, very generous with his time and his money to not only this board but several individuals at time of need. He'll be the first to admit he is stubborn and when he is pushed he will push back just as hard or harder...

Ian is a nice guy, I've never denied that and never cut him down in the process unless I've been given reason to do so. I'm the type of person that regardless of circumstance i wanted to remain neutral because I don't believe either of these guys would be malicious.

I do believe we do crazy things under extreme circumstance so take it for what it's worth. I wasn't there when the guitar was shipped or picked up so I can't comment on when it got broken and there isn't one person here other than the people involved that would even have 1/2 a chance of knowing ...

    So whats the bottom line?
Ian told his side of the story
    Pat rebutted his side

I don't see Ian reposting so it is a dead issue unless the parties involved want to take it further. As far as this section, its design is such that after the information is presented it is up to each individual to form an opinion as to whether they would do business with these people. It's not here to have a pissing match or a he said she said scenario .. Especially those that don't know either party or weren't around when all these deals were originally cast in stone ...

    Have a good night ...

And no posts I've read here are anymore helpful than the "Ian isn't posting" comments? Other forum members are certainly free to speculate and post their observations.

So first everyone thought Pat was to blame...then he comes on and tells his side...now because Ian does not reply its his fault? Nah

Personally I agree with Shawn. I think Ian told his story and that's that.... Pat did as well. Nobody will ever know what happened and yeah why battle with people over the internet as it will not solve anything or fix the broken guitar.

This is sad ALL the way around and the classiest thing to do at this point for both of them is to let it go. This one is not going to be solved, everyone will just have to have their beliefs in this whodunnit and NOONE can ever prove they did or didnt do it.

Neither one was smart enough (or dumb enough) to have reliable unrelated witnesses to the packing or the receiving, so its a stalemate.

    Very sad.
I never said one or the other or either did any of it. I simply stated that Ian seemed to have a lot more to say when Pat wasn't a member here or any of the other forums. Is that not stating a fact as it would seem to this point? And I love how you always seem to appoint yourself as the judge when any of these pissing matches come up Shawn.

Pat, I lost your number when the wife and I switched phones. Shoot me a message here or email [email protected] and we'll catch up.

The wife and I are getting ready to buy a house so we'll be in the St. Louis area for at least another 5 years.

I've seen Ian logged on here and other forums as early as last night. So he has definitely had opportunities to post. Kind of looks to me like it was a lot easier for him to build up his side of the story when Pat wasn't able to log on to any of these forums though.

Pat, I think it was PETTY to keep the swag. Just like I told you the other day on the phone whene we were catching up.

There AK47 - will this make you happy? Nobody has been saying anything because we're all waiting for Ian to respond and for them to resolve this. As petty as it was for him to keep the swag, you have no idea what it's like to deal with Ian. I'm not trying to justify anything here, but until you've walked a mile in his shoes you should just let up and let it be resolved.

At this point, you really are wasting pixels on my screen and even though other pixels will come along, those were sadly wasted.

The only things I can say about Pat are good things...except for maybe the Corona dumped over my head in Cal a few years ago, but hey, he was drunk...just look at that pic that was posted earlier, haha. For the years that I've known him, hes always been a stand up guy and can say that hes really helped make this place what it is today. Ive met his family of several occasions, had dinner on him many times, hung out with him at NAMM and talk to him on a fairly regular basis. All I can tell you from my experiences with Pat is that hes a great guy and I wouldn't expect him not to be the same around anyone else here. Just my 2 cents.

No reply by Ian speaks VOLUMES to me. Id be all over this thread if it was my $2500 rare axe that was destroyed and I saw the person I believed to be the guilty party pleading innocent.

Im not sure who to believe but I still think maybe Ians old lady did it out of spite. Women are capable of that type of destruction.

I wouldnt assume anything as far as what other think of this entire scenario.
exactly....just because there's no influx of people agreeing that the swag should have been included, doesnt mean no one agrees with you in that regard.

I just wanted to point that out, it made me upset no one said anything like "you should not have taken the swag." except for one other person but oh well I will let it go.
This deal was middlemaned from the sounds of things so I did not even want to touch pulling whichever original ad that started this whole thing.

I guess its cool to steal if someone makes you mad.
