You obviously didn't ignore the comment about anyone who doesn't know anything about these two people should butt out either ...

This is the point I was feebly trying to make......it just kills me..

In all seriousness, though, I actaully gave the damage in shipping theory some good thought. There were no chips, no debris, and yes, that could have easily been done outside the box. For the wing tips, hold it by the neck and drag it or bang it on cement. For the headstock, hold it by the wings and smack it face down. In any case, this isn't guitar forensics (a nod to Mike ) and it really doesn't matter now that the damage is done. It's just friggin sad as hell to see this happen at all........
Well, it matters in the sense that it's one thing - bad enough - if that happened in shipping. That puts the Fedex goons in the doghouse, but they don't know any better.

If it got broken on purpose out of ire over the dealings, that would be an entirely different story, and in any group of guitarists much less the JCF and THESE guitars, that would be sacrilege.

But we will never know the answer to that, and maybe it's better to mourn the guitar than to dwell on what we DON'T know.

BTW, I have no doubt Mark can restore that guitar to a nice playable axe, but the tone will be forever changed. Whether he still wants to after reading these newer posts is another story. What I would truly hate to see is that guitar rebuilt, then sold as if it were an intact one.

As has been stated, we'll never know how it really happened, but like most things in life, the most obvious answer is usually the right one.

It would take some real work to damage a guitar in that way. The strings are half broken, the binding on the headstock tip is broken away, all the scrapes and such in the paint, headstock crack...all of these seem to be the result of the box being thrown around too much in the FedEx warehouse.

But remember as Kevin pointed out Toejam is a "pity admin" so we really can't expect much out of him.

Pat you were far more patient than I would have been. I would have not did the ship delay thing at all really. When I sell stuff (not too often) I want it gone before I change my mind Also when someone mentions sneaking things past the wife that in itself is a red flag for me as a seller.

I have no issues with anyone here and this is no jist of the fine people here but issues like this are why I don't sell in the classified here...at least with eBay I have some protection

I do. I guess I just didn't say it the nice PC way that you did...

"I think people that dont know either party should probably just excuse themselves from the argument. Its kinda stupid to argue over a third person occurence, no?"

Pissed off at Ian, sure... But not the guitar! What do I have to gain by this? He's the ONLY person that has anything to gain by this...

If you were that smart Dr Phil, you'd see how I reacted to the whole thing...

You may want to "read between the lines"
