Yup. JCF does not seem to have the same "feel" as it did a few years ago. That is why I mostly lurk now.
*slinks back into oblivion*
I agree. It seemed alot closer and more friendly back a few years ago. The feel changed for me very soon after were not allowed to post comments in the classifieds section. Can't explain why though...

I agree 100% with the post above. What I found was several thin skinned members who could dish out the comments, but when they were hurled back (usually in a comedic way), they'd throw their Internet lower lip out and pout like an ugly school girl not asked to the prom.
Personally, this place became an after thought after I posted my one and only ad in the Classifieds (after thoroughly reviewing the rules and guidelines) and it caused a fucking shitstorm. It caused some hard feelings and I do regret that, but it left a bad taste in my mouth.
She's a dwarf not a midget. But, there's not a whole lot that rhymes with "Dwarf" Just watch the Wiz of OZ. The midgets are the ones with the small heads. And, I trully mean no offense.
She could be The Wharf Dwarf - Specialist in Seamen! :ROTF:

The classifieds lost their charm when you could no longer hassle Newc for his creations.
Can we allow replying to Newc's classified ads? That might restore harmony to the JCF.
I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.
There are only 2 admins on jacksonforums - David/Bflat5 and myself. Also, I'm not seeing any problems with your account - doesn't show that you're still waiting for activation.
oh, i though i would have recieve a conformation e-mail, like i did when i joined here. but i logged in and sure enough............ i don't think i can go through the noob process again............
the midget thing was a little heavy duty, but she is perfect for me and joe.
"slappy, slappy" bill sings, happily, as he dick slaps random people on the streets of Cleveland.
Just a thought; spillover from rationalizations concerning the interzone realities of my day job...
The type of behavior exhibited follows a premise I hypothesize, based on conjecture, assumptions and basic behavioral psychology. I went through a similar guitar related situation that caused someone to lose it.
I have observed guitar, as an escapist, diversion hobby, for mostly male adults, as we see more and more, high-end 'Hot wheels' for big kids with 6 strings to sate our underlying need to be kids once again. Guitar for some is the last refuge of dominion that they have over their daily lives, tending to iconically revere their collections as not a statement of ownership, but as evidence to an existence as a being. This is the only place where the decision is theirs and the knowledge of such items is seen akin to Freemasonhood without syllabalizing vintage vacuum tube names with brothers.
For some, criticism of what is essentially a private sandbox is heard as, 'Why haven't you trimmed the hedges like you promised last week?' and 'How can you possibly wear that tie with those shoes?' Theses message boards mean different things to different people. Sometimes it is easier to bitch out a semi anonymous nym than to face life's more pressing issues head on.
We lost one poster recently due to a post probably scripted while drunk, as it didn't make much sense, other than getting a joke in poor taste across and another newer poster left, as he dove right in with a similar sense of humor as I possess, without laying any foundations, only to feel dejected, when it backfired on him.
The ignore function is a powerful tool. Everyone goes through rough patches. Reasonable people usually come around on their own and may do so with their ego intact without making a tangent of the original issue, hallway gossip.
When days get to be too much for some, it is a natural course of human nature to seek dominion over something, even if it is something trivial. Joe understands this very well and has surprised some newer members with his peer methodology to moderation. Sometimes we just need one of the guys to throw our car keys in the bushes, so we don’t try and drive drunk, rather than having the old man take our keys away for 3 months for trying.
