That link really sorted things out. When I get the money order, I'll have the bank verify it (not cash it). If it turns out to be a fake, then I'll play along and have some fun with our scammer.

Dude, it's a scam. Do not even bother to send him any of your information.
+1. Even if the bank checks out the MO and quickly (doubtful) identifies it as a fraud, you'll have likely sent your personal information to a scammer, anyway. ...Identity theft ring a bell with you?
Too many red flags. Walk away, and end all contact.
As of a few days ago, the MO was on its way here. :\ I'll stop contact anyway. You're right, this has too many things wrong with it. I just got another email from someone blabbing about 3rd party shipping and "wire me the difference with Western Union". I told him to (I quote) "Fuck off"
And the Treasury dept deals with counterfit items etc..
Secret Service is a branch of the Treasury.
From their website (how secret can you really be if you have a website?):
The United States Secret Service is a federal law enforcement agency with headquarters in Washington, D.C., and more than 150 offices throughout the United States and abroad. The Secret Service was established in 1865, solely to suppress the counterfeiting of U.S. currency. Today, the agency is mandated by Congress to carry out dual missions: protection of national and visiting foreign leaders, and criminal investigations.
