Yeah I went to Canada/Norway and Latvia/Slovakia. It's a cool atmosphere no doubt but the fans are still doing dumb shit like chanting the opposing goalies name and yelling "SHOOT IT" when anybody carries the puck more than one stride in the offensive zone.

At the Norway game I was sitting behind the family of Vikingstaad and they had a big "go dad" banner out. I wish he had scored one just to get to see them freak out but at least I got to see Luongo's Olympic shutout.

Latvia/Slovakia was a decent game to see even though it was super one sided. There were more team Canada jerseys than Latvia or Slovakia in the crowd though. I didn't really give Slovakia much thought in the tourney because I thought their depth chart was Gaborik and the two Hossa brothers, but when they came out for the pre-game skate I was like, NHL player, NHL player, NHL player, Whoa Chara, NHL player, um these guys are kind of stacked!

Does Sweden still have analog channels? Finland lost them all about two years ago so I can only see them in digital (with some digi services you have to buy a special package to see Finnish channels). Sucks as Finland shows A LOT of hockey. And I remember we used to have one Swedish channel (some SVT) which we could pick up with antenna, but I haven't seen it for years.

Sweden does look good, Lunqvidstsdiqvst glove was shit hot in the first game and made me take notice. I picked russia over canada before the olympics but after seeing thier starts who knows. Alot of great hockey to come though!

i'm sorry but this has been a trying month. absolutely deplorable. i'm boycotting the olympics. no NFL, MLB, or NHL. The Olympics have been over run with professionals in lots of sports, all with sponsors, huge contracts, etc., so when someone says "hey the USA has 7 gold medals already", where's the surprise? I like it better when some street sweeper from Finland or something shocks the world and takes a gold medal in some event. All we have is reruns and Tiger Woods apologies over and over and over again to watch. Fukkin' deplorable. Just an awful month. I'm waiting for Lundqvist and gaborik to both go down with meaningless olympic injuries and ensuring a 12th place finish this season. Fukk all of you guys-lol

Tommy I'm a competition nut so I love the Olympic game, primarily the hockey. There have been some great games with high intensity instead of ho-hum we're in game 61 of 82 for the NHL.

I like Olympic hockey, players play more from their heart and there's a lot more intensity in the games. In clubs they play so that some fat bastard could earn more money. When players are out for their country there's a lot more pure sport value.

Tommy is partly right. An amateur athelete will lay it all on the line playing for his country. An NHL pro might think "Hey I'm on the final year of my contract, do I really want to block this shot with my face?"
