I'm disappointed in the Russians. I knew Canada would come out firing early, but really thought the Russians would be able to weather the storm and then turn things their way. I assumed it'd be a close 3-2, 4-3, etc. type score. It's like they weren't even bothering to play defense in the first period. Every one of the scores that I didn't FF through was from an unguarded Canadian!

there is no D in Russia. Canada has the best balance of O and D of any team in the tournament. They can play any style, skill or chip it doesnt matter. They can be physical as well. The smaller sheet was advantage for Canada. If this was on a larger rink the outcome may have been different.

Same here. I was depending on the Russians to knock out the Canadians because I don't like the US's chances at round two. I thought the Swedes looked the best in the round play and they'll be next on the docket for Canada, assuming they win late tonight.

Great games. Our independence day celebration ended pretty well, seeing Russia getting murdered on the ice I like how canada played, very moving, a lot of good passes etc. not this boring straight forward crap they did in Torino.
