Saw Ovechkin got suspended for a couple games. That's good. The hit was definitely cheap, and definitely dangerous.

I think the game is a lot faster without the 2-line pass. I think it's helped cut down on stoppages and helped speed up the game. I think that the refs need to call games consistently and they need to get rid of the instigator rule.

I also think that any blatant headshot should result in immediate suspension for minimum of 10 games, maximum of however many games the victim misses up to the length of the season+playoffs. I also think softer shoulder pads would help. You never saw these hits back in the day because players were much less protected, and people knew it. Nowadays you can get slammed into the boards and not feel a thing.

Finally, the Flyers downfall is that they always think they're better than they really are. They'll be lucky to get past the first round.

at the time I really didnt see that as an overly cheapshot on Seabrook. The game is a physical game and players will get injured from time to time. The check was a bit late and finnished up too high that much I totally agree with that but players do not have luxury to read plays in super slow motion, over analyze them (as fans do on instant replay) in real time and make a choice BEFORE they actually happen.

Its going to be interesting to see what becomes of this. These headshots need to stop and that fact that Perry took a hit what Wisniewski though was cheap isnt going to look too well...he was issuing payback, that much is obvious so that brings the intent element into it.
