That hit on Pronger was a sign of his poor play. You just don't see him get hit.

I agree...it just seemed to be 'one of those days' for him and they don't come around very often. Normally, he is in position to get away with things or in position to dominate technically and he normally does BOTH.

I thought pulling Leighton was a mistake. Those first two goals on him were fluky: deflection and a weird bounce. Boucher only plays well when he's playing every night. Niemi had some really nice saves, but the Flyers also choked on at least 3 open nets off of rebounds.

Leighton wasn't at fault for that loss. Sometimes you pull him just so he can have a bit more rest and sometimes to shake up the team. Who knows which it was there.

I see the Flyers bouncing back big time on Wednesday and eking out a win in OT in Game 7.

This season has been about as predictable as Nova Scotia weather so I won't even guess!

which ruins the game now. game is opened up with the elimination of the 2 line pass, but is slowed down with limp wristed penalties.
It's a double reverse, it cancels itself out, and then the refs either call it tight, making it like basketball at times,
or don't call it tight, which gets everyone mad if their team is getting hosed on calls. Outlandish I say.

i'm agitated, in fact I'm hysterical. I cannot take the Hawks stupid Amstel Light celebration song any longer.
I can't take the hyperbole of Emrick, and i'm not alone, Hull and Mikita looked they were sick of that song too.

Anyway, the first team to win on the road now will win the cup, Hawks in 6, or Flyers in 7.
Otherwise it's Hawks in 7. I'm a brilliant mind at times.

I just found this little write up on "Three Things I Can't Stand About Emrick"...enjoy

The first is his voice. It reminds me of Walter Cronkite on a helium overdose. I think that's actually a pretty impressive comparison on my part considering the closest I've come to hearing Cronkite's voice is when Jim Carey does an impression of him in the movie Bruce Almighty.

The second reason is that he makes every mundane play seem like it's the most amazing thing that's ever happened in hockey. I guess that's what people like about him. But I hate it. I'm tired of hearing him say things like "And NOW he PASSES THE PUCK BACK AND THEY REGROUP!" It's just ridiculous.

My third problem with Emrick is the most important one. He uses the most ridiculous verbs to describe actions in an athletic competition. Rather than talk more about it, I've made a list of strange verbs he's used that piss me off. In fact I'm gonna rank them (1 being the most ridiculous).

Mike Emrick Stupid Verb List (1st edition):
