what call? Don't feel bad Cliff...Wings have had 18 goals disallowed by BS calls like that. The ref's make up the rules as they go (butt breaks plane of crease) and just give Tomas Holmstrom those types of calls just on his rep...which is getting bad calls against him for his reputation...lol

What should be more of a concern is the netminding of the Blackhawks and how do Chicago coughed up a two goal lead with 4 unanswered? I thought for sure when the Hawks made it 5-3 that Detroit would fold and walk out of Chicago without any points. I had little faith in them holding on like that...

Agreed with the netminding... niemi will be the #1 guy the rest of the season.

But the difference between 3-0 and 2-0 is huge, its likely game over at that point. Wondering if kozari had some money on the game.

well that was another outstanding job yesterday from the hawks. 3 outa the last 4 just complete meltdowns. That hit on campbell was bullshit too. Still wish probert was on the team sometimes, lol.

I didnt think the hit on Campbell was that bad (intent to injure) but nonetheless Ovechkin pushed him from behind while in a vulnerable position, OV should have held up. Since Ovechkin is a repeat offender to the nickle penalty (5 min major/tossed) and couple boardings he should receive an automatic suspension. I say give him 3-4 games. We'll see if Colin Campbell has the balls to do it, my guess is Ovechkin gets the ole double-standard for star players (as Malkin did last years playoffs).

Colin Campbell (and Garty Bettman) have to go, they are ruining the game and lettin bullshit slide. Cooke should have been gone for his hit on Savard but their reasoning is "we didnt suspend a player for a similar hit, if we suspend Cooke that would be like admitting we fucked up" and we all know the NHL never admits to fucking up anything...but they do just about every game.

So now we have 2 very talented players who are injured and their seasons done. The NHL is essentiallty saying that free cheapshots for all for the remainder of the this season and playoffs.

I do not want to even think about how they interpret the blindsided rule they'll put in affect next season -and- the nancyboy players who like to dive and draw calls will be leading with their heads so they can draw a major penalty and go on the power play to score as many goals as they can on a 5 minute power play...

Put the fucking red line back, throw out the instigator rule and let these players protect themselves as obviously the league does not care for the players. They only care for cost cerrtanity for owners who don't know how to run a business....

Agreed shawn, if they get the "blindside" rule its gonna be even more of a fkn circus than it is now. What are some of the first things they teach in junior hockey? "keep your head up" and "no hits from behind". I (somewhat) agree there was no intent on the ov hit, however, this is the number 3 cheapshot this year for him, i believe. If he had to man up and fight probie or grimson or tony twist ofter one of those hits, hed think twice next time.

I disagree about the red line tho. I think its helped the game.

I like the stretch pass w/o the redline myself but without it, too much speed is generated and when you get 200lbs flying through the neutral zone and they get nailed that is where injuries occur.

Yoru damn right that crap would not happen if OV knew he'd get a beatdown by Probie...
