Its going to be interesting to see what becomes of this. These headshots need to stop and that fact that Perry took a hit what Wisniewski though was cheap isnt going to look too well...he was issuing payback, that much is obvious so that brings the intent element into it.
the biggest problem tho, is seabrook never played the puck. Not to mention its a blatant headshot and "payback". shouldve been 5 and a game + more. And now, we're out 2 of our top 4 dmen to cheapshots. total bs.
Its a complete catastrophe. But Im a professional, I can rise above it. LOL

    • Wisniewski gets 8 games for Seabrook hit

TORONTO – Anaheim Ducks defenseman James Wisniewski has been suspended for eight games, without pay, for delivering a hit to the head area of an unsuspecting opponent -- Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook in NHL Game #1041 Wednesday night, the National Hockey League announced today.

The incident occurred at 2:22 of the second period and resulted in Wisniewski being assessed a minor penalty for charging. Seabrook suffered an injury on the play.

Wisniewski, who was suspended for two games on October 31, 2009, now is considered a repeat offender under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Accordingly, he forfeits $268,292.72 in salary, based on the number of games in the season (82), rather than the number of days (193). The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.

"Mr. Wisniewski delivered a retaliatory hit to the head of an opponent who never had possession of the puck," said Colin Campbell, NHL Senior Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations. "The fact that Mr. Wisniewski is a repeat offender also entered into this decison."

Wisniewski will be eligible to return April 3 at Los Angeles.

        • when you have players who only care about themselves and their wealth....hit em where it hurts, their ability to make a living and their fat pocketbooks.

          • Poor Flyers. Now they have to rely on Boucher and some no-namer ECHL goalie for a backup.

            • It was clearly retaliation for the hit on Perry and he should be suspended but I bet the term would be shorter or there would be some wierd previously unknown statute of limitations if his last name was Ovechkin or Crosby. (Well it's been over 41 games since his last offense so he isn't a repeat offender...)

                    • the calls in the first two periods of the ranger game today were so weak that i turned the game off. it was deplorable. the game is starting to suck almost as much as the rangers do at playing hockey. honestly, it was badminton out there instead of hockey.

                      • Look at those Phoenix Coyotes, first place in the Pacific over the Sharks. Tied with Chicago for best in the west with 97pts and 1st in the West in games won.

I caught the 3rd period. Rangers were thoroughly outplayed by the Bruins. Would have been 3-0 except for a lucky shot that bounced off of a Bruin and into the net.

                            • i'm on the Coyotes bandwagon, i hope they win it all. it would be great, they draw about 8 people a game after the families and immediate staff of the team. it would be a nice kick in the face to the Leafs and Rangers, the two most valuable teams in the NHL financially wise, the Coyotes goalie is really good.
