Nashville had that game. What a bone head play by Erat to throw the puck blindly into the offensive slot like that. All he had to do was push it deep and scrum along the wall and time probably would have expired before Chicago could break out with it.
The Hossa hit, unfortunately thats the rules of the game today. Nossa should get a game or two but unlikley that he will. The difference between the OV hit and Hossa was Hossa had more intent as he knew the clock was expiring, he had to get the puck or they lose and Marian decided to push the guy's numbers from behind a foot away from the wall...ha dhe not do that Nashville has possession and clears the zone
Whatever happens, Nashville isnt going to be able to recover from that meltdown, Hawks put then out of their misery in game 6shawnlutz.com

I agree. Hossa should have never been in the game after that.
That said, a Chicago vs. Washington final would be incredibly exciting. My Duncan Designed pickups are way better than Seymour Duncan regular pickups you fanboy.
Yeah...too bad the forum doesn't have a minimum IQ.

And there you have it...Colin Campbell deems NO SUSPENSION IS WARRANTED. Complete and utter bullshit. Between Bettman and Campbell, this league couldn't be run any worse. Say what you want about Roger Goodell and the NFL, but the Roethlisberger suspension proves he isn't afraid to suspend star players for substantial amounts of time.

Directly facing the numbers on the jersey and hitting the player into the boards. It's cut and dry. Most agree he should also have been ejected from the game, although that is the discretion of the referee. Its a complete catastrophe. But Im a professional, I can rise above it. LOL

Oh I'm not arguing the boarding. I just don't think he had intent to injure. Here's the rule:
42.2 Minor Penalty – The Referee, at his discretion, may assess a minor penalty, based on the degree of violence of the impact with the boards, to a player or goalkeeper guilty of boarding an opponent.
42.3 Major Penalty – The Referee, at his discretion, may assess a major penalty, based on the degree of violence of the impact with the boards, to a player or goalkeeper guilty of boarding an opponent (see 42.5).
42.4 Match Penalty – The Referee, at his discretion, may assess a match penalty if, in his judgment, the player or goalkeeper attempted to or deliberately injured his opponent by boarding.
42.5 Game Misconduct Penalty - When a major penalty is imposed under this rule for a foul resulting in an injury to the face or head of an opponent, a game misconduct shall be imposed.
42.6 Fines and Suspensions - Any player or goalkeeper who incurs a total of two (2) game misconducts under Rule 42 and/or Rule 44, in either Regular season or Play-offs, shall be suspended automatically for the next game of his team. For each subsequent game misconduct penalty the automatic suspension shall be increased by one game.

i don't think he should be suspended, a game misconduct maybe right after the hit, but that's it. The Preds have nobody to blame but themselves,
they gagged that game away, not to mention having the 1st 4 minutes of OT up a man, they did it to themselves.
Art Rooney suspended Roethlisberger, not Goodell. How can you compare the two offenses anyway? That's daily behavior in the
NFL these days. Not helping the situation since 1965!

6string40- I guess what I'm trying to say is that the NHL is a far cry from the NFL.
The NFL is very wealthy and the NHL is not.
The NHL has players suspended for their acts on the ice, and the NFL suspends players (once in a while, when it's absolutely attrocious) for their
behavior off the field, and not nearly enough. The NFL is big big big business, they've been protecting players for too long, it seems like Goodell
is trying to turn things around, but it was the steelers owner who levied the blow on Big Ben.Not helping the situation since 1965!
