same old same ole for Detroit, never know what team will show up. Pathetic performance on home ice yesterday. I was expecting that, their 2-9 in national TV day games. Now have to play a game 7 on the road. Flip a coin, its a 50-50 shot as you never know what Red Wing team will hit the ice.

I'm stunned that Hossa got nothing for that.
I can't say much more about that. As one of the better commentators stated: with the Ovechkin hit, at least there was proximity and contact so the player in the lead would be aware that a hit was imminent. With the Hossa push the player in the lead would have no idea that any contact was coming and then get pushed at the very last instant.
What is the more dangerous practice? The push is way more dangerous.
...and since he didn't even get a misconduct he got to score his only playoff goal for Chicago. My Duncan Designed pickups are way better than Seymour Duncan regular pickups you fanboy.
Yeah...too bad the forum doesn't have a minimum IQ.

Goodell seems to be trying to clean up (not that it will ever be cleaned up, but...) the league while Campbell and Bettman just have their agendas. The NHL has acted on off-ice incidents as well--see Avery's antics--but again, they're going to do that to Avery every time he opens his dumb ass mouth.
But take the exact Hossa hit in other scenarios. No one is going to convince me if that hit was made by...let's say Chris Pronger...that no suspension would have occurred. Would Crosby have been suspended for the same hit? Hell no. There are players in the league that they protect no matter what they do on the ice and those that they'll make an example of any chance they get. That's all I'm trying to say.
With regard to intent...Ovie was not trying to hurt Campbell...he plays with great passion and comes across as being reckless at times. The fact Campbell was injured sucked and I'm happy to see him back on the ice. Hossa was lucky Hamhuis didn't get hurt. I'm sure Hossa didn't intend on injuring anyone either. What McSorley did, for instance, was intent. Intentional or not, boarding like that is extremely high risk and needs to be cleaned up. The only way to do that is to give a 5 minute major, game misconduct and suspension. Period. I don't care who it is that does it.
Getting rid of the touch on an icing will help, but boarding can happen any time and any where around the rink...so a rule change is not the be all end all.Last edited by 6string40; 04-26-2010, 04:41 PM.

Man, I really don't want the Flyers to get Boston in the second round. Let's go Sabres!
So much for that. The Habs have really surprised me so far. It all comes down to Wednesday night.Last edited by Spivonious; 04-26-2010, 08:43 PM.Scott

Suspension would only happen if there was intent to injure, which I really don't think there was.
I'm tired of the league removing any kind of battles from the game. The league is getting too pussified as it is. Lets wear fucklin skirts and have no contact, we dont want these ladies gettin fuckin hurt now do weshawnlutz.com
