last nights pens-habs game was so fun to watch that i didn't even turn Emrick off

I almost would have rather won 2-1 instead of 7-1. Ths Sharks will be looking to redeem themselves from that embarrassment so they'll have some added motivation. 1) their pissed off and 2) they don't want to have to travel back to Detroit again. Detroit better ready becaks San Jose is going to bring it tomorrow, you can count on that.

It was a good showing from Dertroit but lets not kid ourselves here, they are still down 1-3 in the series and face an emimination game on the road in a hostile environment. Nonetheless, the odds are better coming back 1-3 than 0-3 lol

I have now moved the "Tank-con" marker down to Tank-Con 1, the worst possible level for the Sharks.
Detroit may not pull the series off but they're going to make them sweat, Sharks gag at home coming up.

Depends on who you were pulling for...and if you enjoy watching good D and goaltending. For the "goalfest" fan, yeah, it was boring.

Hockey is a great sport though in that some people think that the way New Jersey used to play 'good D' and others thought it was boring 'trap'. Some people think Hal Gill is a fantastic 'obstruction artist'...obviously, Sid thinks that Hal was a great D man last year but a cheater this year.

I thought NJ's D ruined hockey as we knew it up to that point...it drug the sport down by allowing mediocre defensemen to "level the playing field" with the true offensive talent.

"Obstruction Artist" is definitely a good description of Hal Gill...pre, with, and post Pens. He used to take Jagr out of the equation regularly back in the 90's, he was a major factor (along with Scuderi) in the Cup run last year, and he's a major reason why the Habs are still alive and well this year. He's the kind of guy you hate until he's on your team. Personally, I don't like that clutching/grabbing style of D.

I disagree.. Bettman, and euro players ruined hockey as we know it. The all star game is a precursor of things to come.

Bettman does like his skill players. I think all the BS holdiong/hooking calls ruin the game, but it does make it more exciting for the casual fan.

I'll agree with Bettman ruining hockey, but not necessarily Euro players--many of them bring a lot of skill and excitement to the game. But you can't overlook the fact that some of the talent is watered-down due to expansion. Expansion didn't necessarily ruin hockey (that was initially just a joke), but it didn't make it any better either. Bettman and his ghey rule changes are really what's killing the game.
