So, when the refs are calling penalties, they suck because they are killing the flow of the game. When they let things go, they suck because they are killing the integrity of the game. What a thankless job
IMO, there have definitely been a lot of inconsistancies (no calls in some series, petty calls in others), but for the most part it has equal for both sides on the ice. The only team that appears to have been truly affected by the officiating to me is the Wings...they couldn't seem to buy a break.

I looked up the rule on hooking.
A minor penalty shall be imposed on a player or goalkeeper who impedes the progress of an opponent by “hooking” with his stick. A minor penalty for hooking shall be assessed to any player or goalkeeper who uses the shaft of the stick above the upper hand to hold or hook an opponent.
Even worse is the tripping definition:
A minor penalty shall be imposed on any player or goalkeeper who shall place his stick or any portion of his body in such a manner that it shall cause his opponent to trip and fall.Scott

The Wings had a great season considering the injuries they had to deal with. They just couldn't pull it together in this series.
Wings in '11! They'll be back.http://www.jacknapalm.com/

Like i said, not counting anything until win #4. Vancouver looked like vancouver, chicago, (with the exception of toews) didnt even show up. Oh well, we should close it out in vancouver, considering the home team has won 1 out of 5 this seriesIts a complete catastrophe. But Im a professional, I can rise above it. LOL

as i said before, you cannot open up a naturally violent game with the elimination of the two line pass and then at the
very same time impede it with these ridiculous calls. it fukks everything up. and i hate the "make up" penalty calls to even it out.
Spiverooster, what is going to happen tonight? you've been on the mark for the most part so far.Not helping the situation since 1965!

I guess the thing that made me jump on the refs was when Daniel was carrying the puck in the corner on the powerplay, gets slashed down and there is no call. Then Henrik see's the guy that slashed Daniel down starting to skate up ice and just straight up trips him. No call on either. I just never understand how the 2nd ref doesn't see that....GTWGITS! - RacerX

Hmm...the last time a team came back from 0-3 was the same year the Flyers last won the Cup.
Honestly though, if the Flyers win tonight, I think they get the series. Boston starts worrying about becoming the third team to lose four in a row, the Flyers come back to Philly and win game 6 and it all comes down to game 7. The games have been very even so far with Boston getting more lucky bounces in the first 2-3 games. Gagne's return may tip the scales in the Flyers' favor.
As far as Pens/Habs, it all depends on how Montreal can contain Crosby/Malkin. If the Pens score two or fewer goals tonight, I can defintely see Montreal advancing.
What I really want to know is who is the idiot who scheduled both series for the same game times?Last edited by Spivonious; 05-10-2010, 12:04 PM.Scott
