Congratulations to the Habs for getting it done. Congratulations to the Pens for fucking forgetting how to play like the defending Stanley Cup champions. Piss poor play and coaching by the Pens.

The biggest difference between Sid and OV is one of them shows up when his team needs him, and the other can't seem to rise to the occassion.

I was waiting...and waiting...AND WAITING for Sid to show up. Now anyone who thought Washington choked can either realize that Montreal played a complete game or they can say Pittsburgh choked.


Ovie was better than Sid, Mike Richards has been better than Sid, Camilerri has been better than Sid...yawn.

If Washington would have played Ottawa in the first round OV would have had 16 points and Ottawa would have been gone in 4. Where were you Sid?


As I said when it took place – full credit to Montreal with the win. They proved it beyond a doubt having LESS manpower and still getting it done against the Pens and their stacked line-up even now that they have Stanley Cup experience. Ouch. No Markov and Gill gone for a while too…

And you say I'm not right yet all the evidence shows that OV simply doesn't rise to the occassion, whereas Sid does. Love him or hate him, Crosby is hands down the most complete player in the NHL.

As much as I hate to admit it, I agree with you. Ovie is far better offensively, but Cindy is better overall. If Ovie learns to pass the puck and Washington gets some solid defense, then watch out.

I remember back when Stevie Yzerman and the Wings couldn't make it to the playoffs let alone win the cup. A lot of parrallels could be drawn between him and Ovechkin early in his careers. When Yzerman changed his game he became one of the best players on ice. It took years for Yzerman to do that. You could certainly draw parallells between Sidney and Gretky as well. But what did Gretzky do late in his career? His later years weren't nearly as good as his younger years.

Montreal Candiens are the real story guys, not what Ovechkin, Crosby or Malkin didnt do..its what the Candiens did. To knock off the top dogs in the east in back to back series is impressive (especially w/o Markov in the lineup against the Pens).

If Halak can stay in that zone and the Habs continue to play well as a group they can win this thing....if they do I'm heading to Montreal for some free beer after the thugs smash in the beer stores windows lol
