It will be especially cool when Kerry, Dave and Scott come out onstage and play Seek and Destroy with the headliners.

Oh, it would be expensive....no doubt about that. However, the only one in Metallica that doesn't seem too into the idea is Kirk. The fact of Metallica being the headliner couldn't be disputed. However, Metallica is searching for real metal cred these days if you haven't noticed. Christ, they just toured with Lamb of God....nothing crossover about that. Your opinion is based on 1995 thru 2005 Metallica. I'm the first to criticise when I don't like something they do, but I'm also the first to admit that they are trying to reconnect with their core metal fanbase. Much as what Megadeth have gone thru the past couple disks. We all know Anthrax has changed many times in the past decade. Slayer have their disks that make me scratch my head too. (what was that punk album called....in my opinion I think it's punk anyways)
People have been waiting for this tour for the past quarter century.
The main issue of this tour will be how the rotation goes each night before Metallica takes the stage, and I think it's getting closer and closer to the 3 first bands dropping egos to make a historical tour a reality......as long as the press let's these guys talk it out without a shitstorm in and created by the media.Transitioning from Retired Musician from cover bands to a Full time vocalist/frontman/guitarist in an original and covers band....it's been a while and this should get NASTY!

Those people who have been waiting for this tour are also mostly 40+ and with every day that passes they give less of a shit about seeing it, priorities change. I'd go, sure, but I want a nice seat with a nice view and don't want some hairy little oik standing up in front of me. My days of jumping around are long gone, I'm grown up and grown old. I'd have given my eye teeth to see this 25 yrs, 20 yrs and possibly even 15 yrs ago. Now? Hmmm, only possibly if it doesn't clash with something good on telly.
With that in mind I predict it will be a pile of shit, a total anti-climax, if it ever happens. You would walk away from it mourning the passing of your youth and laughing at just what a fat bastard Kerry King has become. So I woke up,rolled over and who was lying next to me? Only Bonnie Langford!
I nearly broke her back

Just to clarify what I meant by "crossover"... no diss to Metallica intended, and not about their music at all. I meant that they draw all types of fans, quite a few of whom would tell you they don't listen to any other metal. Just the other day, I was shocked to see a bunch of my Facebook friends who I know are either top-40 pop or classic rock fans talking about being at recent Metallica shows. They are a completely unique metal band in that way, imo. They've become almost like the Stones or Springsteen. For a lot of people, it's just a hot ticket and you get one if you can.

Even without those crossover fans, this tour would sell out every night with just the die hard metal fans. So nobody would lose money. No chance of that at all.Transitioning from Retired Musician from cover bands to a Full time vocalist/frontman/guitarist in an original and covers band....it's been a while and this should get NASTY!
