  • DVD Guitar Lessons? - Recommend Some, Please!

I'm looking to get my chops back in shape. I'm not looking for guitar lesson DVDs. More thinking about rock guitar instructional DVDs. Think like learn how to play songs tabs, but done as instructional DVDs. Hard rock and pop stuff - VH, Ozzy, Journey, etc. Mostly 80s, but newer stuff is cool, too.

Google, etc are giving me crappy search results. So I'm going right to the source - you guys! Can you recommend some good ones, please? Thanks.

Youtube has quite a lot of course, but a few are more professional and tend to have links back to the author's website which has much more.

Youtube is down so I can't post link to the one I know or the homepage associated with the instructionals but it was quite thorough with specific songs at least (80's/90's rock). Might've had other instructionals including theory/etc as well but don't recall.

    Will check in later

Puhlease. Dude, I'm not 13. Been playing for like 30 years.

Ugh. Just typing that made me feel old.

Well if you're wanting to learn to play songs, then Metal Method has some sort of branch. If you're looking for chops, really, I can't stress the Hot Licks video's. Vinnie Moore, Jason Becker, Marty Friedman, Shawn Lane, etc...

I guess I'm looking to quickly work my chops back into shape by learning some new songs from DVD, if that description makes any sense. Not looking for instructional stuff nor lessons.

Guitar World just put out a DVD with Andy Aledort showing you how to play like 6 Pantera songs. That doode can play like anyone.

Well, seems most of his cover samples are now gone from youtube. Wonder if youtube axed them being similar in nature to the attacks on posting tablature, even interpretive ones. Wouldn't surprise me. Only thing remaining is technique, theory, etc

Anyhow, seems most content is still on his page, just without youtubes involvement (aside from subscription limitations to most of these videos). This should include near exact replication of many songs, solos etc, content which sounds like you are looking for.

Youtube channel with only a few misc remaining
