Judas Priest's cover of "Diamonds and Rust".

Diamonds and Rust-Judas PriestVideo taken from the DVD:RISING IN THE EAST

Especially this version that they did live. It's incredible. Rob's still got it. The album version is pretty good too.

I'll take whoever did it before Led Zeppelin! You do know it's not a Zeppelin original, right?

SRV doing Hendrix's Voodoo Child, Little Wing and Third Stone from the Sun.

Sepultura's entire (post-Max) Revolusongs EP, Bullet the Blue Sky (U2) in particular. Sepultura's (with Max) Procreation of the Wicked (Celtic Frost), Orgasmatron [Charvel content heh] (Motorhead), The Hunt (by i forget), Symptom of the Universe (Black Sabbath).

Anthrax's version of Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (Sabbath) and Got the Time (Joe Jackson).

                Cathedral's Solitude (Sabbath).

All of Metallica's covers except Tuesday's Gone.

The majority of Nativity in Black 1&2, System of a Down's Snowblind is genius. Notsomuch Busta Rhymes... which reminds me... Sir Mixalot did a cover of Iron Man too, "back in the day" with none other than Metal Church. Also bad. lol

Ozzy and Type O Negative's Pictures of Matchstick Men (Staus Quo). Ozzy and Coal Chamber Shock the Monkey (Peter Gabriel).

Prong with Ray Manzarek's Strange Days (Doors). Prong's London Dungeon (Misfits).

Almost forgot Marilyn Manson's Sweet Dreams (Eurythmics)... ooh Golden Years (David Bowie) and Suicide is Painless (the MASH theme).

Which brings to mind Infectious Grooves doing Immigrant Song (Led Zeppelin) and Fame (David Bowie).

                *whew* that'll do for now.

I love cover songs done well. For years I've imagined doing a metal remake of a bajillion songs... mostly What I Like About You (the Romantics) and Who Can It Be Now (Men at Work).

(If you don't know this one, please don't go look for it - you'll only upset yourself.)
