jason Bay turns down a 4 year 60 million dollar deal from the Red Sox and takes a 4 year 65 million dollar deal with the Mets.
i'd have taken the 4 years and 60 and a chance to win with the Sox instead, but I wouldn't know about getting 5 million more dollars and what that could do to you-lol
Damon offered 2 years and 18 million from the Yanks but supposedly that offer is not anywhere near what he and Boras want.

Thats 5 mil a year more for Bay that he doesn't have to play that hard for.
The BoSox would have expected him to earn it.
The deal with Damon would barely cover Boras share...what would the 9 year old do for spending money after Boras got his cut????

Did Jason Bay take the deal? I've just seen the offer.

holy shit a lot is going around today
1-Lackey possibly to the red sox
2-Halladay possibly to the Phillies, but the Phillies may lose cliff Lee
3-Matsui to the Angels and possibly drop Vlad.
                  we shall see soone enough.

in a smaller deal, red sox pick up mike cameron; looks like they're moving on without jason bay. kind of a drag, but that's business, i guess.

Cameron has a great glove but I'd rather have Bay.
Matsui is now an angel. They got him for a song, 6.5 mill.
Cards pony up an 8 year 128 million dollar offer to Holliday.
I'm glad to see Halladay in the NL at least, but I don't see how much that deal improves Philly in the end overall since they had to part with Lee.
Halladay is the best pitcher in the game in my opinion and he's only 1 year older than Lee, but I don't think one can pitch much better than Lee did in the playoffs this year, we shall see.
Lackey to the Red Sox is mondo for them, they have a huge big three now with him, Beckett and Lester, they could be the favorites now in the A.L.

If the red sox can sign Adrian Gonzalez from the Padres, then they will be the favorites hands down in my atomic pre-season picks.
The Padres own him for one more year and hopefully tell the Sox to fukk off.
Otherwise, the red Sox would be awfully strong at the plate and the mound.

Tommy,,,,, did the Phils really need to give up Lee? I'd keep Lee over Halladay any day of the week. The Cards went a lot bigger than I figured on Holiday's offer. Yeah...I'd like to keep him but not sure at that price. I know Pujols will just take a deferment on his salary like he did last time so it's not about the money. I'm just wondering is MH really worth that kind of cash???

if so I hate to see what they'd have to pay pujols when it's time to negotiate, good lord. I'd take Halladay over Lee if given the choice. The phillies had to give up lee as he was going to demand some large dollars in a year. Seattle could now be formidable with Lee and King felix on the hill for them.
