Need Opinions about Something Awful

...It's a website called "Something Awful.com".
Seems junior wants to pay money to join this site.

Before I post my own opinion I would like some other views.
Good?
Bad?
Indifferent?

I've done a little research on it but maybe some others here are more aware (savvy) than I am.
The boy is 16 years old and likes game developer's sites and
designing based on Valve (Half Life, Gary's Mod, etc).

I didn't realize somethingawful.com was a paysite unless the pay part includes access to adult materials. It used to be basically a satire/practical joke kind of site. It's obviously morphed into something different if they have pay to access content now.

Lowtax I think is the somethingawful.com guy. I used to read it years ago. Could be hysterically funny at times. Not sure what else they have going on now.

EDIT: Not sure how old Junior is. It's not a little kid's site. Under 17 I wouldn't do it.

If that's the sort of site he's reading, keep an eye on that kid! It's a "smart" site, populated by the bright kids who sat at the back of class and slept all day, with some mouth-breathing idiots sprinkled in. Mostly harmless, but very "prankster" oriented.

I suspect he wants to in with the "in crowd".
We check the router traffic and he nor his brother
browse anything too off the wall, or much to worry about.
