  • Megadeth - End Game

I didn't see a thread on this so if there was forgive me. This is the best Megadeth album I have heard in a while, just really excellent song writing. It rips, if you like Megadeth this is a great listen. Easily my fav since CTE

I think this thread fell into either the MegaDave on the Late Show thread, or the new Dean Dave "I Wish I Was Hetfield" Dean Z thread.

Awesome album though - you are correct. Slammin' tracks. Some awefully silly lyrics on a couple songs, but definately sounds like badass Megadeth.

When doesn't dave have absolutely silly lyrics? Whadya mean I can't be president? and that is actually some of his finer lyrical writing. Megadeth has always been about great riffs and interesting solos and this album does it well.

The best album on 2009 without question. STILL in my CD player at work!

Yeah, the lyrics are sometimes pretty silly or down-right stupid, but other times, they're pretty good or funny. Back when United Abominations was releases, people were discussing the meaning of the song of the same name in the Megadeth forum. Dave himself closed the thread after first having stated (in the thread) that he was thrilled that his songs would spawn such a discussion. I guess it became too much for him when people started questioning the Gound Zero references in the song -- I personally think it was just some random imagery, but it was silly to put it in the song, if he didn't mean it.

Meh I haven't listened to it in a while, I don't really think it's that good. I hate the solos on it which is a first for a megadeth album. Think I'll go blast UA just now.

I think it's very bland actually.

I didn't care too much for TSHF or UA, but I love End Game.

Agreed... except I've never even listened to TSHF or UA. I've got Warchest, so I have heard some songs between CtE and EG. Honestly I haven't been impressed by many of them. But I like EG.

Yeah I know, lots of folk don't seem to like UA but I loved it once I burned a copy without "Tout Le Pish" on it. I really liked the guitar leads on that album, the two styles were very different and thoroughly enjoyable.

I lsitened to Endgame yesterday and thought the riffs on there were great, but I just don't enjoy it overall very much. The lead playing bores me to fucking tears.
