as for now, I own 30 guitars. about 6 of them are less than pro quality. old acoustics, crappy electrics, novelty guitars. so about 24 of them are really quality rides. 14 are Jackson USAs. 3 import charvels. 1 USA strat, some off brand stuff as well. ovation double neck, rogue double neck electric, ephiphone bass. so I got some cool stuff. as for now, the only things I can really want to add to my collection is a Charvel pro mod, just waiting for the right color combo to come along. and I want to buy a Charvel Spectrum in Sea Foam green. I might consider orange in that, but I really got a thing for Sea foam green. so thats really all that I got on my radar. nothing thats got to happen today, just in the future. when the time is right and the right guitar surfaces.

But yeah...it's an addiction for sure!"Your work is ingenius…it’s quality work….and there are simply too many notes…that’s all, just cut a few, and it’ll be perfect."

It's been a while since I've done anything lately as 95% is in storage and 1500 miles away from me...but I'm still on the lookout for parts. LMAO, I was also thinking I might have a problem. I've got 4 guitars in my living room, in case I'm too lazy to walk outside to the garage where I've got the others. I keep telling myself I'm gonna get rid of some and that doesn't seem to be working for me .
How many are too many, that's a tough question ...Enjoying a rum and coke, just didn't have any coke...

Like anything else in life it can go too far. Chances are however if you're screwing up with your guitar addiction it is the least of your problems.
I buy guitars and play them. That's my hobby. No gambling, no other areas that I throw money around. Some of em haven't been played in a while, but they will be at some point. Just depends on my mood.
Frankly for the last 10 years vintage guitars at least have been a better investment than the s&p. That will change, and I don't ever go into a new guitar fooling myself into thinking it's an investment, but as stores of value go, particularly if you buy used, they ain't half bad.

Huh?
I don't understand the question...
Keep em! Keep em ALL! Many of you know me, and know my bouts with GAS, but I did buy/sell them for a purpose, and bought them going in with knowledge they would someday be sold to pay for something, and they were, a brand new network from the ground up...
I've had some very bad ass axes, but I only regret parting with 6 or less.Don't blame Congress or the President - blame yourselves. ~Newc

Always searching for that ultimate tone and equipment. Sounds familiar? I'm no pro, so I don't need many guitars for different sounds/back up/etc. It is a hobby for me, albeit an expensive one. Like others here, I like hunting down guitars, amps & other gear. However, I do sell any stuff that I don't use often or have double. My limit now is two guitars (and a small rack system) because I can only play one at a time. This means that I'm buying and selling gear on a regular basis. I'll admit, I'm a gearwhore (and can't play shit for that matter, but that's a different topic) but I keep it somewhat under control by trading.
Some on this forum have 10 guitars or more. I can understand that. After a hard day's work, it is relaxing to play/clean/restore your gear. But you have to set your priorities. Only buy what you can afford to. Basic necessities, health insurance, housing, care of childeren etc. really comes first...

and for me, its all about the journey, not the destination. I have a few amps on my want list too. A Mesa Mark V and a Bogner Ecstacy. all in good time. I may not buy one for 5 years. but thats ok. no hurry. but selecting really cool gear and buying it when I can justify it is fun."clean sounds are for pussies" - Axewielder
