Hmm, I'm not sure about that I don't remember trying to play along to anything from that period. However, I know for sure "Scars of the Crucifix" is in Eb, as I distinctly remember playing it on my old SG and the wife walking in and catching me headbanging. She still points and laughs at me as a result.

the reason i ask is because on my dk2 i dont use the locking nuts and i just turned all the fine tunning heads all the way down and tune normal. BUT my guitar is a bitch to keep tuning to different songs. So thats why im asking for half step songs.

Why don't you block the trem if you're not going to use it? That would make retuning easier. Retuning a floating Floyd is indeed a PITA, and Floyd-time is also usually multiple-guitar time for just that reason.

I never really tried much extreme stuff, but AFAIK their first album should be drop Db, as well as at least some tracks on III sides. their latest one is in D btw.

I usually use "pacemaker", a winamp plugin, for jamming along to MP3s. it pitches the shift, changes the tempo and whatever you need. it even remembers the changes for each song in your playlist.
and the result is still listenable IMO. when jamming I concentrate on my guitar anyway...


for Eb pretty much every "power-metal" band should do the trick. hammerfall, maiden, gamma ray, all that glorious stuff.

The early stuff is a definite E standard. I know 'Wasted Years' is in Eb, and perhaps the rest of somewhere in time album, but stuff from the early few albums (Maiden to Piece of Mind at least) were in E.
