It's simple, they are making cars more complex every year for one main reason-service. No longer can a do it yourselfer change his own oil, do his own tune up, or shit anything for that matter. We are forced into taking them into the dealerships for service, which is fine I guess, but when it gets so technical people are getting hurt or dying, something has to change. I work in a high end autobody shop and some of the crap we have to go through is down right stupid.

OK, like what? Sounds interesting, maybe interesting enough for its own thread....

It's stupid shit- like if the key is on the run position and you hook the battery up you take a good chance of frying the computer. Any welding, stud gun pulling, or electric tools like that you have to disconnect the battery, but alot of times you have to follow certain steps to disconnect the battery or you erase everything and have to send the car to the dealership to get scanned and recoded.

40 fucking minutes??? What do they do, load it in with a cassette player like a ZX Spectrum? I'd want the fucking thing to type letters, do my accounts AND show me porn if it takes 40 minutes to upgrade the software. I bet they only took 10 mins to write the fix.
So I woke up,rolled over and who was lying next to me? Only Bonnie Langford!

              I nearly broke her back

What do Toyotas and serial rapists have in common?

                  Neither know when to stop.

                  Yeah that's a bad joke.
