Here's another thing you won't be ok with- What about a kid whose parents are just constantly cracked out? Take their kids away? Why? They're not breaking the law. Now you're bringing government back into it again. So what then? Leave the kid sitting in a dirty diaper for days? Of course not.

And so drugs have to be illegal, because at some point everything, when no personal responsibility exists, has to be written for the lowest common denominator, and the rest of the world has to live with it.

Because as a society we don't have the guts to do as Newc suggests and throw a guy that kills someone because he did a 8 inch long 1 inch wide line of coke and decided to go fly a plane into a dark hole for a very, very long time.

I didn't want to address the whole book, so I cut it down to these parts.

You're damn right CPS will take away the children of alcoholics who are tanked 24/7, even though their drinking is not against the law - because their child neglect and endangerment IS against the law, whether they're drunk or cracked out is immaterial. So that's the flaw in that thought.

As for Newc's thought regarding he pilot whoi killed Rhoads, well the guy is dead along with Rhoads, so nobody's throwing him into prison. Plane crashes, if anyone dies it's usually the pilot, especially in small planes like that.

And I will repeat what I said in my other post. While MANY people do 20 years, no parole, for sellling a pound of weed or even coke, the prisons are spitting out thousands of RAPISTS and CHILD MOLESTERS, simply because the Federal judges say a prison can only be so crowded, and they have leeway to release the pervs, but not the druggies.

Do you understand how fucked up that is? It is obscene that we are doing this to ourselves. We need to reverse the situation and have mandatory minimums with no parole for sex offenders, and decriminalize drugs if not make them legal outright.

Tax revenue on drug sales would probably knock out the deficit pretty fast. It would also weaken organized crime by depriving it of a huge revenue stream.

Drug use needs to be treated the way alcohol use is treated. If you do it responsibly, fine. If you get out of control, treat it as an addiction problem. Don't lock 'em up forever while you let the pervs roam free, that is just stupid thinking.

I find the acceptance of perscription drugs and alcohol assinine yet weed is illegal. I never found a guy who killed a family of 4 dead, wrapped around a tree with a joint in one hand and a donut in the other. You can't really OD from weed and if you do, you are asleep on the couch waiting for Domios Pizza to deliver LOL...

Anytime I read about a OBSCENELY large bust, seems that substance is everywhere in a few weeks, like they just busted it for publicity and they are really just trafficing it for someone

Wouldnt it still be an accident if it wasnt intentional? if it was done intentionally, then its murder. but if it was just a dumbass person that made a dumbass move and it ended up in a plane crash, it is an accident. that is IF the guy didnt intend to crash. it was just very poor judgement and irresponsible flying. same things happen every day in cars. people shaving while driving, eating, reading, masturbating, talking on the phone, those all cause accidents too. those people dont mean to kill anyone. it doesnt make it right or justify it by ANY means. but to me if its not intentional, its and accident.

My kids werent allowed to run rampant if they did then they faced MY wrath. Now that being said they know the difference between right and wrong and if THEY choose to make a piss poor choice and it ends badly for them then who is to blame, the Govt? their mother? myself?
