+1 - California is a hard market for ammo, although WalMart is getting better on it...it's a 50/50 proposition now as to whether they have any when I go in...as for good .40 S&W reloads, the ones made by Bitterroot are good, FMJ, only about one in 50 on the fail-to-fire front....you can get them here, at least until AB 962 takes effect and your state government outlaws mailorder ammo - http://www.rmammo.com/index.php?main...ndex&cPath=1_6

A compensator helps eliminate muzzle jump, however I don't like Glock compensators as the muzzle flash is directed upwards and when shooting at night it flashes directly in front of the front site post. That's a deal breaker in my books.

Compensators, in my opinion, are overkill unless you shoot competitions. So long as you maintain a good, positive control of the pistol while firing you shouldn't need a compensator for quick follow up shots.

I buy my hollow points from that site and they ship QUICK. They usually have a wide selection of different types of rounds for .40 S&W.

They say it is supposed to keep recoil and muzzle climb down under rapid fire but I've never had a chance to shoot a compensated model.

I have a license to carry concealed. It was extremely difficult to obtain (answer 4 or so questions about my mental health and criminal history and give 3 personal references).

G19 here. I really like it. Real easy trigger on it. A friend got a S&W glock look alike, sorry don't remember the model, and I'd need to do finger exercises just to pull it. ;^)

I'd like a 45 as my next one, but have to many other money eating projects going right now.

I let my carry license expire years ago. I'd like to get it again, but really I never carried. :^/

I live in California and sadly I don't know anyone in this county who'll give me a license to do so. Not to say if I go somewhere bad I won't have it with me. I'm just saying legally in this state I don't have permission
In the future though I need to remember to not buy guitars while on Nyquil

I don't blame you. They wouldn't let me get mine in New Orleans for some reason but after Katrina I would,t go a block without it.Never needed it but it was there just in case.

Virginia is a ''SHALL ISSUE'' state meaning if you meet the requirments,it's yours.Had mine since 2007 and carry almost everywhere.
I believe you can carry in state parks now and bars if you arent drinking but the bar thing is a bad idea if you ask me cause the kind of bars I go to are usually full of trouble.

Yeah, you pull it out in a bar where others may be carrying as well as being intoxicated, something bad is gonna go down.....

                                Anyone into Glocks?

                                > Mine is a very old (pre-ban) 19. I have Pearce +2 finger extensions on both 17 rd mags,which combined with a chambered round,gives me a full box of 115gr Cor-Bon +P.

                                Over 1500 rounds expended,not a single malfunction,but all I use is Cor-Bon.

It would be a bad day for anyone that showed up at my place uninvited. Tommy D.
