middle relief and that play by gardner was the biggie last night. left sabbathia in too long. who was gardner throwing the ball to, the ball boy?
they lost the first 8 to the sox last year, i just would have liked to win last night.
anytime you score 7 runs, and against beckett, you should hold 'em down.

youkilis had 3 extra base hits, 2 doubles and a triple, 3 runs scored. that's a nice start for anyone.

i like that kid. the painful part of the game was the headache performance of sweet caroline by neil diamond, not to mention it was in the middle of the 8th, not the 7th.

Is it me or did Sabbathia look like he ate a few kids in the offseason

Went to the Pirates home opener yesterday and was treated to a thrashing of the Dodgers...if only the season ended today

Ran into Bill Guerin and Franco Harris and got to chat with Manny Sanguillen (my favorite player as a kid).

Forgot sunscreen and now have a face that looks like I was bobbing for french fries

Agreed - definitely looked like he put on a bunch in the offseason. Actually, when I turned on the game, that was the first thing I said to my wife.

Can someone explain this to me?

Halladay won the opener yesterday and let in 1 run. Yet his ERA is 1.29. Shouldn't it be 1.00?

                          edit: nevermind, found it online. 1 run / (7/9) games = 1.29.
