Anybody else here find playing the guitar solo at home boring after being used to having other musicians in the room. Ever since I got into my first major band situation, all I do at home now is tweak the EQ on the amp for hours. I play nothing constructive, just change the EQ play a few chords and then do it all over again with different EQ settings. Kinda gets boring after a while and a little saddening. What can I do to find the love at home again?? Any suggestions? I mean its not a total waste of time as I regularly find new tones I like from my amp(of course, then Im torn as to which I like better), it just gets old after a while. It gets so bad most of the time that I dont even touch my guitar but 2 or 3 times a week between practice cause I look at it like whats the point.
I remember days of old before I played with others on a regular basis and played out often that playing with the stereo was veery entertaining, but that doesnt interest me at all anymore. I was learning and polishing new techniques on nearly a daily basis, but now Ive run out of direction. I miss the joy of the guitar at home.
Im using a $2500 guitar primarily for noodling(the new band is in its infant stages right now), how sad is that. Any input as to what to do about this would be great.
